With next year looking very scary for us and with some juniors needing some mentoring, why would we not go after Matt Rogers to play 5/8 ?

Better then Kimmorley and what other choices do we have??

He's killing it at 5/8 for the Tits!!

Injury is my only concern but if he could stay fit I'd play him with Graham in the halves ....

He would probably not want to move the young family back south.

Would stay at the Tits for less just for some stability and to enjoy the lifestyle and get out of the fishbowl.

Would love to have him back though. May be getting on a bit but those years in Union had him resting quite a bit.

I too would prefer Rogers to BK. Unfortunately, in the past he made it clear he wasnt coming back. He now has less options and may change his mind, but the cost and injury situation dont make it good business. I dont like the idea of players seeing out their last year with us. I would have thought going after the St Helens half (Tomkin I think) would make more sense. Young and with a point to prove. Recently, most of the Pommie imports have done ok.

I don't understand the ridiculous choices our club makes. We need outside backs and we need halves. Rogers is both, and fuggen good at it too! I know some people are against him due to his age BUT a short contract would both, buy us more time to get a young quality half or centre coming off contract in 2012 and it also gives us a quality NRL LEVEL player (who is currently killing it) in the mean time.

I think the Gold Coast have made it pretty clear that they won't be re-signing Rogers since they have young backs they want to keep.

He can play anywhere from 1-7, so why not? We could get the Roosters NYC half or Tomkins as well.
