SMH today has linked us to the great man "David Vaealiki". Nothing set in concrete but our man could be on a qantas 747 with a contract in hand heading for the UK to lure the prince of centres. Good to see Moodes can be replaced after all.

Leaving no stone unturned he also after another back of similar standard. He is a man on a mission. 2008 will have clubs like the storm shaking knowing Ronald is building a super club.

Its good to know that our man is out their on the streets thinking beyond the square

People tell me he has been a standout for Wigan this year and just what we need big and experienced. Cant see it myself. If we are going down this track, well you should just look at what we have in the lower grades and save the dollars for the right signing

Look what Jamie Lyon has done for Manly since coming back. He was name #1 player in ESL in 2006.

Only in the last few games mate. He's not bad, but I think most of the Wigan fans are glad to be rid of him tbh.

He's a good player, was going well when he left the eels but really struggled when he went to wigan.

Came good in the 2nd half of the 2007 season.

If you get him cheap, he's be a good pickup.

Vaealiki snapped his achilles tendon in his last season at the Eels - up to that point he had been playing reasonably well but was offered a big dollar deal from Wigan. The club didn't stand in his way as the money offered then was more than he would have ever made at the Eels. The injury though was worse than first expected and he has struggled to get back to where he was before he left. I've seen a few SL games where he has played and he is still a half decent player with a few good years left. With the lack of experience in your backline he will add something at the very least in that area.

Ronald's just after a free flight to the UK so he can take a holiday .

It couldn't hurt.

His game seemed much improved playing with Barrett this season in the ESL and he is more suited to the Australian style IMO.

Hell park him inside the Tongan Tank on one side and have Collis and Lawrence holding the other side and it is a pretty impressive 3/4 line

I don't think centre is an area where we are lacking.

a prop or back rower of top quality would be better

Tigers sound like they're in a mad hunt for some big kiwi outside - Vaeliki not quite the answer - why dont you guys just take Carmont - there about the same in ability only Carmont doesnt play in the esl and which is why he dont look that good atm.

Here they have been looking at other Rugby Players in NZ other than nonu - but cheaper options players who play top grade (NPC) but not quite all blacks or super 14.

Yeh I looked okay 4 years ago--big time to be away from the real stuff. Cant see him offering anything but a bit of experience--just like the fireman

I know someone else who fits all that criteria... that any wests tigers fan would love to see back. Its unusual, there arent many "come back" threads for him this off season though like in the last 2 years.
