How to really jinx a rising talented kid - let's make them the Parra rookie of the year

2000: andrew ryan - gun lock, let go, snapped up by filthy bulldogs and goes and captains them to a premiership. sheeeesh
2001: danny sullivan - big rampaging forward, did knee, released to warriors, no good, never heard from again. anyone remember paul mares ?
2002: ash graham - boom young centre/fullback, snapped leg, suncorp turnstile, released to the cowboys
2003: michael witt - wonderkid halfback, our new sterlo - released and running around with the rejects ( aka Manly Premier League)

TBA

2004 - jack afamasanga
2005 - tim smith

i dont think so, you either have it and keep it...or you have it and the deteriate i.e ryan is now rather crap IMO, sullivan was a decent player but thats all, graham...well that goes without saying(best luck to him at his new club)..and witt just cracked under the pressure and hasent really been the same since.

Mate, had Sulli not suffered any injury he'd up there as the best forward in the comp by now and probably worth about 300K in the open market.

It's the same with the NRL rookie of the year

Matt Utai hasn't recaptured the same for and is currently out with a busted rib

Braith Anasta although still a good player isn't as good as some make him out to be

Michael Vella won the rookie of the year in 1999
and in 2000 the greatest nuffie rookie of the year winner of all time

Jack in 2005 looked like joining that list but he has turned things around so far this year

Jacky has been going great guns, particularly based on last year.....

ironically, he's probably earning more money now playing rugby than he ever did playing League.

if he was all that, why didnt he make a comeback?....i dont know the extent of what his injurie was, due to a bad memorie....but was it that serious that he had to go off the radar?

David Baysarri may push for that honour.

baysarri led parramatta marist to the commonwealth bank cup and we beat those st.gregs pussies, so that makes him a legend.

Sullivan basically totally rooted his knee

tried to make a comeback in 2004 for the Warriors but only played about 10 mins for 1 match.

prior to his knee injury he would've been pushing Hindy for the best forward to come out of Parra since the 1970s-80s golden era

some players just lose it after injury and its too hard to come back

Sully was pretty much buggered though after two knee reconstructions and a golden staph infection that halted the second surgery.

A bit like Jason Power - knee injuries stuffed him as well and he had potential, not as much as Danny though. Darren Pettit was another.
