keep this thread for rookie of the year, with griffin out for a few months it could be anyones this year
my top 4 contenders

1.Tyreke Evans (sac) - pre season stats 15.1ppg 44%f/g 4.9 rpg 4.7 apg 1spg 1 bpg - has all the tools to be brandon roy like maybe even better

2.Brandon Jennings pre-season 10.9 ppg 33% 6.4 apg
probley nba ready aand if he starts he will be a major player for rookie of the year

3.Blake Griffin (LAC) -13.7 ppg 56% 8.1 rpg
the only reason hes so low is cause he will miss the first month and a half, imo will avg a double double in hes first year

4.Jonny Flynn(wolves) - 14.6 ppg 47% f/g 4.5 apg 1.3 spg
will probley be the go to guy early on with AJ still trying to fully recover from hes injury, will be a good solid nba player

With Griffin out for significant time, I like Evans chances. He should be able to log good minutes and if Kevin Martin goes down like he does nearly every year, his stats would look good as well.

I don't like the fact that Flynn will be sharing time with Sessions, although I've heard the possibility of playing them in the same back-court.

Ugly first game for Evans.

10 points on 5-16 shooting with 2 assists and 3 turnovers.

I know it's early but let the Rubio jokes begin :)

If Curry can get consistent minutes, then he'll certainly get enough shots to be in with a good shout. Playing PG will definitely allow him to see more minutes than what he would if he were at SG. Plus his assist numbers will be decent so that also helps.

Only problem is Nellie's, at times, crazy rotation, so one night he might be playing 40 mins a game, the next night he might only be in the game for 15.

Flynn bascially took over the job of foye excpet hes way better and doesnt just jack up shots
any rookie guard thats shooting 47% from 2 and 50% from 3 must be going good

i think the main 4 i picked will battle it out with Blair and curry for rookie of the year for sure, its anyones right now

How about that Brandon Jennings.

32 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists as he led the Bucks to a 108-102 win against Denver.

It's still way too early to make a definitive statement on how great he's going to be, but you gotta feel that the teams that passed on him, especially the Knicks, must be feeling a bit sick.

Well said sir.

So far it's Jennings and Evans as the clear stand outs.

Yeah there's no doubt if Jennings plays in the NCAA for one season, his draft stock would have been epically greater. I mean if you remember, Jennings was supposedly not at the draft because he felt he would fall too far. When he was selected by the Bucks, he eventually shook Stern's hand like 4 picks after he was selected.

Gotta love the Knicks. In the two drafts prior to the Summer of Lebron, they've passed up on two young studs. Last year by passing up on Eric Gordon and this year by passing up on Jennings.

If my memory serves me correctly, you guys had the no.9 pick, which was used on DeRozan. Jennings went the very next pick at 10.

Jennings....WOW....just WOW

53 points 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Even if it was against a team that doesn't know what defense means in GS, for a rookie to put up those numbers are ominous signs.
