Jennings with 23 points 7 rebounds 8 assists in the game against Dallas. Game tied at 104 going into OT.

How long before this thread is renamed as the "Brandon Jennings Appreciation Thread"?

It's interesting how big a lead these two are making from Griffin for ROTY. One wonder's if Griffin will be able to make a big enough impact to catch up.

No. Games over

Truth betold Griffen would be struggling to match these numbers anyway.

So far I would rank it this way.

1) T. Evans - 20ppg, 5 rpg , 5.1 apg, 1.5spg, 46 FG%, 26 3P%, 78% FT

Kid has been a beast so far. Gotta say I was wrong big time on him. He's made an immediate impact and this Kings team is doing well despite losing their premier scorer in Martin. I think Jenning's has had higher points, but Evans has been far more consistent of the two.

2) B. Jennings - 21.1 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 6 apg, 1.1spg, 42 FG%, 45 3P%, 80% FT

Started off with a bang, fizzed off for a while, and seems to be getting it back together in recent times. Has had higher points than Evans, and has certainly being getting more press, but his incosistency counts against him.

3)T. Lawson - 8.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 3.3 apg, 0.83spg, 51 FG%, 48 3P%, 80% FT

Even though his numbers aren't off the charts, he's producing alot in limited minutes plus he's contributing to a potential contender. His %'s are pretty slick as well.

Interesting to see most of the Top Rookies have had an impact on their respective teams

01. EVANS, Tyreke [Kings]
Team 2009-10 Win Pct: 0.455
Team 2008-09 Win Pct: 0.207 [+0.248] - Even without Kevin Martin

02. JENNINGS, Brandon [Bucks]
Team 2009-10 Win Pct: 0.500
Team 2008-09 Win Pct: 0.415 [+0.085]

03. HARDEN, James [Thunder]
Team 2009-10 Win Pct: 0.522
Team 2008-09 Win Pct: 0.280 [+0.242]

04. LAWSON, Ty [Nuggets]
Team 2009-10 Win Pct: 0.720
Team 2008-09 Win Pct: 0.659 [+0.061]

05. CURRY, Stephen [Warriors]
Team 2009-10 Win Pct: 0.292
Team 2008-09 Win Pct: 0.354 [-0.062]

I'd say Tyreke Evans would be leading the Rookie of the Year race so far.

Evans for me has the early nod. What's really impressed is his shooting on long 2s - 47%. That's a pretty good mark and indicates he might develop legit 3 point range down the line. Jennings started off the stronger, but has definitely cooled. Still, it's a two-man race and I doubt Griffin can make it up.

Along the Lawson "a lot in a little" line from Ridders, also mention Blair (Spurs), Teague (Hawks) & Thornton (Hornets). Blair would be averaging a double-double if he was given more than 14 minutes, Teague has steadily improved and is turning into a potent combo guard off the bench and the second-round Thornton just might be the key to the Hornets making the playoffs.

All told, it seems a much better rookie class than a lot of people gave credit for.

Yeah gotta agree, this draft class is certainly deeper than alot, including myself, though it would be. To think that Rubio and Griffin haven't even played a minute in the NBA yet.

Blair's a good candidate. Kid is a machine, and as Tiger said, he'd be a double double guy easily if he got good minutes.

Evans (in part) helps the Kings back from a 35 point second half deficit against the Bulls, an NBA record comeback. Sacramento hanging tough in the west at 13-14, and are 12-10 without Kevin Martin, who would've thought it? Wonder whether they'll consider trading him for a legit 3...?

King's probably won't consider moving Martin until he's back healthy and putting up good numbers, in order to re-establish his trade value. They are in a nice position though and don't need to make any rushed decisions. They can just let Martin come back healthy, see how things work with him and Evans, and then move on from there.
