Roosters 2016 draw discussion

Well in terms of who we play we are going to do things the hard way next year, every other top 8 side twice and 10 games against the bottom 8.

At the end of the day we atill should be good enough to make top 4 but the time slots are garbage IMO. Not one single friday night game, we play souths twice in the first 6 rounds and broncs twice in last 6.

Why one of those couldn't be swapped around is beyond me.

We also play the Warriors in NZ again minus our Origin stars. Is that a prerequisite to lump us with that disastrous fixture or something?

I prefer it this way.

We play better when we actually face good teams instead of the shit we throw up like the game against the Titans last year.

Actually come to think of it, if we play at full potential we will be better even without Maloney and RTS. We would switch off in games way too often, if we can get that out of our game it doesn't matter who we're facing, we'll win.

Not so worried about the fact we play the other top 8 teams of last season twice. History suggests that at least 2 if not 3 or 4 of those teams will not make the finals next year. In fact I would suggest Manly and Warriors will make the 8 in 2016.

What bothers me is we have 7 games with 5 day turn arounds and other clubs have none. As usual Broncos get treated favourably.

RTS is a big loss.

I'm not complaining about who we play. Seven 5 day turn arounds is a tougher ask compared to others with none. We will at least flog the vermin twice in the first 6 rounds.

30-0....

Not sure where you got 7 from. Roosters have four five day turn arounds. At the other end of the scale they have ten seven day or more turnarounds, Broncos have nine 7 day turnarounds- the least in the comp. More teams got more favourable draws than broncos. Souths are king of fta with 15 games on fta in the first 20 rounds. Bulldogs and sharks both got 14 seven day turnarounds. Sharks have 19 games in 'sydney, so only leave home 5 times for the season. Roosters would have been the same if they hadn't given up 2 home games to go to perth and cc. It would be interesting to know how many requests clubs put in regarding the draw get met. I'm pretty sure Broncos continually request Sunday arvo games but got none, while Cowboys have made it clear that they prefer Saturday nights and seem to get plenty. Point is there is plenty of things that go in to a draw to make it good and bad and to say one team is favoured over others doesn't really cut it if you look a little deeper than the normal whinges and throw away lines.
