Roosters game

W00t what a game! Awesome work from the boys with the only boys even SLIGHTLY letting us down being Costigan and Thurling but even then it wasn't anything major... Great defence (I take it Carney has been trying really hard, what an improvement!) all over the park... Just awesome stuff...

Oh on the Toyota cup one though... Terrible reffing... Lucky it didn't cost us the game!

Costigan was the only low light, needs more time in the QLD cup.

Was a touch disappointed with our massive drop off in the second half. Classic Canberra Faiders.

But who really cares? We put a competition leader to the sword. It was awesome.

it was a great game . carneys defence was brilliant they roosters were targeting him but he came up trumps.

we still let in 2 tries which we could have avoided.

but in all a top notch performance

agreed, we finally started to play like a real team..some of those kicks reminded of the early 90's when we would gamble on the first tackle..

How good is Milne, just plain awesome back there for us.

Milne's handling is still a concern. Not under the high ball, just generally at random periods he spills it with no reason.

Miller looks like he'll be out for a while. Two clear choices to come in - Thom LL if he's still firing in Logan, or Fensom who's been phenomenal in the TC side.

Always pleasurable to beat the roosters.
Doubly so to do it after beating the dragons.
A great 2 weeks.

Top notch defensive effort barring the Anasta try.

I thought our front row was exceptional. Tilse, Miller and Logan took some punishment but finished all over the Roosters. Thommo got dominated a bit was still came back for more. Tongue was his usual freakish self.

Once we held them up front I thought we thoroughly outplayed them out wide. Monagan, Best and Milne were great and Campo controlled his side of the field really well.

There was a LOT to like about that performance. The only downsides were Neville and Miller's knee injury. I also have to say we threw it around a bit too much in the last 20 when we just needed to control the footy.

Speaking of which (two good wins in the last two weeks) why have the forums quieted down so much? We lose and they are packed with posts aplenty... We win, and win well, and it's pretty quiet... I mean our forum was new postless for over 24 hours :S

There are other forums where Raiders fans post.

I'm aware of that... Still wierd for this one to be so quiet... Don't we like to mix with the rest of the RL community when we are winning? Only fun to have a whinge publically when we are losing or something?

Probably because Bay makes 90% of the posts or generates comments with his posts, and with the Raiders going well Bay has no need to post as he never says anything positive about the club.

I used to post a fair bit, but no longer have access at work and am too busy with other things right now. Still drop in now and again though.

Great 2 weeks for the boys. The defence was great today and the flair in attack very pleasing to watch. Bring on the Titans!!!

As a Parra supporter just let me say to you Raiders - What a wonderful team that you have. Year after year you are dealt with massive injuries and woeful official decisions but you keep coming back.
If we could just bottle that wonderful spirit and grab some for our team I would be truly thankful.
The Raiders, like the Eels and Panthers, continue to develop wonderful juniors that continue to be swallowed up but the Roosters/Manly accountants but your team leads the way and shows that you dont have to have a star team to beat the odds.

The term ' A champion team will always beat a team of champions' has never been more apt than when it applies to your team.

Congrats and best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Thank you for your kind words. The Raiders may or may not make the finals this year, and even if they do they might just end up being cannon-fodder. However, efforts like the last few weeks make you feel proud.

I've been too scared to post in case I wake up and it's still Sunday morning.

The stinging defeat for The Roosters by the Titans

The riling up of Big Willy with the over-rated tag.

The difficulty The Raiders have had in maintaining intensity consistently week to week.

I hate to admit it but The Roosters do have a lot of class and talent, albeit imported rather than home grown.

Add to that the penalty count favoring The Raiders. The 50/50 calls going our way, and the video ref decisions overall favoring The Raiders.

I'm terrified we'll thump the Titans, then I'll wake up from my nap to discover it's all been a dream, it's only round 14 and The Broncos are 38 nil up at half time, Bile Duct is polite to everyone, and Bay 56 is Don Furner Junior's wife!

The forums have been quiet of late, which i think reflects that things are good.

A simple rhyme can help explain the trend

"Forums peak, when the green Machine's Weak."

We are travelling well, so there is less for people to complain about.

And no one's prepared wants to gloat in case they burst the bubble.
