Roosters Major problem

IMHO.

The Roosters are trying to let us all beleive they don't have a 5/8, Why?

Flannery has played the position a number of times very well, Wing can play the posi very well, Crocker can fill in admirably, Soward should be given a shot. Amos has the ball skills and running game to play it. Although his defence is Speed bumb like.

The Problem the roosters have faced this season with their halves is the problem of the Coach. The master coach as he calls himself, is constantly using 3 to 4 guys a game in the position. Why ?

There is no stability, no combination forming, and the rest of the players are suffering because of Ricky.

Ricky's use of the bench would have to be the worst I have seen from a First grade coach in all my time as a fan of the game.

We were also led to beleive that Fitzgibbon would not be playing 80 minutes per game this season, as he is non effective in the back end of each half because of it. The guy was a champion footballer who looks tired and wasted at the moment.

Props and backrowers - Morley and Tupou
Halves - Wing, Finch, Amos, Firman, Flannery, Crocker.

Wingers - Walker, Monaghan, Amos Any more ?

Centres - Monaghan. Cross, Flannery Any More?

Keep up the Good Work Ricky, Swapping players around the park should be for training, not during games mate.

Ps: The Roosters will win tonight, because the Dogs don't have the firepower tonight. The Roosters will keep it as simple as possible, and that will be enough to win by 20.

Yeah the only thing funnier than that would have been if he replaced Stuart with Smith!!!

I agree with some of your comments - I couldn't believe the amount of times I have seen a forward standing at 5/8 when we are only 20 metres from the ltry line from a scrum. Yes a lot of 5/8's can't tackle but this ploy has not produced a try. Time to go back to basics I think. Pass the ball,, catch the ball and tackle in defence. As we all know de fence is not the thing that runs around de house

Y couldnt the roosters go for a team that looks like this?

Mini
Monoghan
Cross
Walker
Roberts
Finch
Firman
J Cayless
C Wing
A Morley
C Fitzgibon
M Crocker
L Ricketson

Tupo
Flannery
Catic
Webb

I think the offseason departures have hurt the roosters. I mean Cusack and Hegarty could play major roles, and im sure hodghes would be the starting centre, and of course u cant doubt the impact of freddies retirement. The salary cap is starting to hurt the roosters and dogs

He may be a waste of space, but he is a waste of space that has played SOO and someone that the bunnies paid big money for

The main problem with the Roosters is that they have tinkered with there defensive structure. From up and in to up and slide. Against Brisbane it came up and slid but Brisbane caught us behind the play the ball with inside balls and caught us wrongfooted at the play the ball. Last week it was 2 passes wide of the ruck as the line was not straight. Schifcofske is one of the best players on his feet in the game and he finds holes like we had last week. If we defend well enough we have enough points in us to win. 22,26,16 should have got us at least 2 wins of the last 3.

If the Roosters are in the mix at season's end I forsee Finch in the 6, Firman in the 7 and Wing at 9. I still think that is our best combo. Interestingly we had Firman at 7 and won both games, have not won since he's been gone.

hasn't Crocker played a test at 5/8? Surely, if that's the case, he's the man

i still prefer
6 - wing
7 - firman
9 - webb

and as someone pointed out, we have not won a game since firman has been gone, and the flip side, we have not won a game this year that finch has played. incl trials..

I did notice on injuryupdate.com.au that Soliola was listed as returning this week, but I was under the impression it was a 4-6 week injury. Surely Ricky wouldn't make last minute changes and bring Soliola back as a big surprise, would he???

the roosters problem is that they no longer have a quality half or 5/8 apart from wing who is really at his best at hooker.
