Ive spoken to more than 1 Roosters senior players who stated that Rooster managements attitude to loyalty is of the style " Do as I say not as I do " that is, they expect loyalty but offer none in return. True it is a professional sport, a business in fact, but it is a TEAM sport and Id say management has lost sight of that, maybe time to look deeper at yourselves Rooster Management, it may shed light into Mitchells situation
next time tell us stories which actually happened ...
can you get any more loyal than minichiello's situation? ... he's played in what, under half the games he was supposed to in the last 3 years yet canavan said under circumstances will he NOT be punted out to go to union ... seems like loyalty to me ...
canavan said mason and o'meley also wouldn't released early from their contracts even when english teams were scouting them ... minichiello also was part of this rumour ... that's three pretty big chunks of the salary cap yet canavan again said under no circumstances and the players also returned serve ...
fitzgibbon was given a one year contract when he could easily have been dumped and snapped up by penrith or english super league and considering he will end next season at 32 and his old legs certainly were showing at the back end of last season i think he was shown some loyalty there ...
who did you talk to? anthony tupou? ... the man took slightly more money at the sharks than what he was offered ... did you speak to craig wing? ... ultimately it came down to craig not wanting to have to go through contract negotiations and having a 4 year contract would have settled his future instead of 2 years with an option for a further ...
did you speak to david shillington? ... two doesn't go into one and shillington only got a run this year because shackleton injured himself in a trial against the tigers ... shacks has been earmarked for some time as a player of the future and shillington was effectively a fill in ... if shacks had been fit the last year and a half shillington would have been a bench player at best ... not to mention shillington's off field attitude hasn't always been the most productive ...
how about adrian morley? ... the club stood by moz for alot of controversial tackling and on field incidents and yet the club can't speak highly enough of the man ... he could easily have been punted earlier
sam perrett debut'd in 2004 and was given a 4 year contract extension in 2008 ...
jamie soward was shown loyalty imo ... told by the coach pearce was going to be the main man he was granted a release ... could easily have been stuck playing for newtown ...
the club has shown loyalty to players over the years
mitchell has NO situation to be pissed off about ... before he'd even proven himself he was given a significant contract upgrade ... he was elevated above a very VERY good player ahead of him in the pecking order in jamie soward and to a degree josh lewis who had both been playing for around 2 years on and off and currently he is playing virtually to no competition ... if mitchell pearce leaves it won't be due to disloyalty from management as he's been given a pretty cosey road since he was 17
so don't speak bullsh*t
