The Sydney Roosters today confirmed the signing of current NSW residents and Parramatta winger John Williams.
The prolific try scorer and goal-kicker has signed for 2 years.
Standing over 6 foot and 98 kg the big winger will give the Roosters options in the three quarters with the return from injury of Anthony Minichiello and Joel Monaghan.
The Roosters have also entered negotiations with the management of big Queensland State of Origin forward Danny Nutley who will be returning from England next season after a stint at Castleford.
A decision is expected next week when the Roosters will be hoping for a positive outcome to boost the Roosters pack together with current Queensland State of Origin forward Nate Myles.

Sounds like a positive signing.

Would be good to get Nutley as well, to add some starch to our pack. With Morley leaving - a Myles/Nutley combination would certainly stack up pretty well.

Bad signing williams the Big winger in jersey flegg is the player to be developed - (double surname) kenny-???. nuttley is past it stick with the youngesters such as the frontrower from jersey flegg who plays with his socks down - charges the line and has a lot of mobility

Maeshall, williams is imo the best techniqual of the winger in parra, he would be in most teams... just the talent of grothe and hayne has kept him out. strong, fast, and a great reader in defence i think he will be in ur team next year.

guys i think you are underestimating the value nutley would be for the side. next year we will be without an experienced front rower who can add impact from kick-off to full time. nutley will be great if we do get him. his workrate at the sharks was fantastic and his yards gained was also good.

i'm absolutely gutted we're letting the big pom go but am not to disappointed if nutley does sign with us.

as for williams, not a bad signing. has had limited games for paraa and coem sacross as a very competent winger. good goal kicker aswell.

overall quite happy with the club not being as active on the player market. look to invest and use our younger blokes from flegg an the jets, no need to pay overs for players.
