I'm ok with last night's game.

I never really held any hopes of a great start to the season. I probably expected us to drop the first two games, so to lose to the Broncos by only 13 points isn't that bad.

Add the fact that Foran was out and Norman was gone by the end of the first half, it actually makes it much better.

Kelly had a shocker but, f**k, what was the guy supposed to do. His job is to play a stable role, secondary to a dominant half, and kick. When he gets everything dumped on him, behind at half time to the team generally seen s the favourites to win the comp...does anyone expect him not to shit himself?

Yeah, he had a shocker, but I don't hold it against him, and I have no problem with him playing as a back-up again with either Norman or Foran.

Semi had a worse game than Kelly, considering the pressure each faced in their positions.

It was Round 1, we got smashed by 2 crucial injuries, yet, really, barely lost to the favourites. Stop complaining.

Defences find Kelly very easy to read. Kelly mostly telegraphs what he's going to do. Ball in hand or not there is no guile to his game. And with speed and the power to break tackles lacking, Kelly looks like an average A grader playing bad in deep mud. And then there is his kicking game....:crazy: And with so many terrible passes, runs and overplaying his hand going on since he joined our club, Kelly must also have communication and confidence issues. He must never play NRL again.

Interesting CVR stats here (from the NRL Stats Twitter account): https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CcrB1NdUcAATp1x.jpg

Four Eels were in the top 10 for this game and they were:

2. Ma'u
5. Peats
7. Scott
10. Gutherson

Luke Kelly was 23rd of all 34 players. Pritchard and Alvaro were first and second (of all 34 players) for CVR per minute. Interesting stuff.

Peats looked very slow out of dummy half when we had quality field position especially.

I know he has massive ticker and gets through mountains of work but I think his attacking work.holds us back a bit.

But running one out with little or no support is a bigger factor that has to be addressed.

Still thinking kelly should be the back up and not cornish? beating a dead horse aren't you.your half needs to be creative that part of the job of the half. Kelly is not creative at all. How 2 or 3 of you on here think he should be there over cornish is crazy. i'll stick with the majority including the crowd on thursday night, kelly is not a first grade player and is pretty ordinary in reggies too.

Tbh, I would give Kaysa more game time and if he does well I would not resign peats. Save some cap space.

Yeah he tackles well but he has no running game from dummy half nor a kicking game.

We r chokkas full of middle forwards so really don't need him in the middle to defend if pritchard can stay on the field.

Jennings I thought was disappointing. Perhaps playing alongside Kelly hampered him. And I know I'm being tough but he should have handled that double movement better. Seemed a rookie thing to do.

Let's see how he goes with the Corey and Forey show.

Jennings wasn't alongside Kelly. They were on different sides of the field. He was alongside norman in the first half and Edwards in the 2nd.

Jennings wen OK .... He got ripped off with that early strip. The double movement whilst disappointing was probably correct, what irritated me was that the initial call was try and it's hard to see conclusive evidence to overturn that decision which is what I thought was the protocol for the videiot referee.
Stating the bleeding obvious but Tak and Gutho quickly need to sort our their defensive lines and communication.
