That is the worst post FFS i am not a knights fan but they have a lot of talent in this team, How they go well its the same question for most clubs.

It's all good mate we don't need you to defend us. Hater's gonna hate. I'm loving it already, especially coming from a Drongos fan

Halves are terrible, hooker is past it, centres average too. no real good wide running attacking back rowers (Cuthbertson is quite good but he's at prop for some reason)
Centres are average? Wes Naiqama was one of the form centres for a while in 2011. Tahu's been average I admit, but he's a very good player when in form.

No real good run running backrowers? Zeb Taia is great at running good lines. One of the most underrated backrowers around IMO. Chris Houston maybe not quite as good there, but he's a good all round player tbh. There's also Alex McKinnon who should play as an impact backrower off the bench.

Just because Buderus is 34, it doesn't mean he's a nuffy either.

Mullen and Gidley should do fine under the Bennett structure.

That Knights team, even with Bennett, are surely no chance at the premiership. For some reason I had it in my head at the end of last year that their line up would be way better, but looking at that, just no.

They will be good defensively (like the dragons were), and will probably make the eight, but I don't think they'll have as many points in them as dragons 2009-2010 did.

However one person I am expecting to have a massive year is Boyd.

Yep, from the outside looking in, maybe not knowing what went on before Bennett arrived and not really knowing the dead wood that has been cut from the place, I can see where you are coming from. As a Knights supporter I'm very confident of a top six finish but admit a Premiership this season will probably not happen.

I'm no fan of Tahu in the centres. However I'm very happy to see how he goes for Bennett.

Your kidding yourself if Buderus isn't better than half the hookers going around in the NRL. His partnership with Matty Hilder will be a successful one.

I think you will see the backrowers doing exactly what you think they don't do. They will become a handful on the fringes. McKinnon, Taia and Housten will do just fine thanks.

As for Cuthbertson, not sure how long Benny would have had this plan for. Not sure if it's due to a lack of options that he has Cuthbo starting. What I do know is that he will add quality second phase play for us at some stage each week, something we have not had for years.

I think you will see an extremely competitive side, without being outstanding, but as the season progresses I think they will put plenty of points on good sides. For mine, there's no more important pair than Gidley and Mullen. Hopefully Bennett can do something with these two over the course of the season. Mullo will improve out of sight with the J. Soward game plan Bennett implemented the past three seasons at the Drags.

The other positive is that we have very good depth already. It will only get better every year Bennett is here. The top 17 will have to be very, very good to get a start at Newcastle in future seasons.

Im loving that we are being underestimated already or is it just the tall poppy effect kicking in. We may not win the premiership in 2012 but we are gonna be right up there, rattling cages all the way

I'm loving the fact all you Knights fans are so damn cocky.

Tall poppy? You have to have achieved something first ffs.

Can't wait to see you cocky c**ks get your faces rubbed in it as the season progresses.

We've achieved more than your insignificant team has in recent times. When was the last time the Raiders were relevant, the early 90s?

We may not win the premiership this year, but we'll clean up your pack of nuffies just like we did twice last year. And that was with Ciraldo and Tolar in the team

How are we cocky? Pretty sure we're just looking forward to seeing the knights have a good year. None of us have said we're guaranteed to win the comp, or anything.

Pretty sure you and other Raiders fans at the beginning of last year were happy to express your chances in 2011, just like us this year ......... Hypocrite.

I don't think Skeepes earlier post was that biased against us. Whilst Knights fans do have cause for optimism trotting the 'we made the 8 with nuffies last year, we'll only go better this year with player a,b,c" is not right. A 26 round season and 80 minute football games don't work like that.

On paper we have a very good side however a lot of those key players eg Gidley, Mullen, Tahu, Snowden, Costigan and even Boyd are players known to be inconsistent a lot of the time and injury prone. They are not the slaters, Smith's, Hannants, Coopers etc who are 8/10 players every week.

Whilst i'm sure Bennett will have a big influence on improving them individually it is a new, unproven squad full of injury prone, inconsistent players. Missing the 8 is a real possibility IMHO.

I reckon the Knights will do well and finish top 8 and maybe higher. But I can understand why people have doubts about them. All teams have to dodge injuries so that is top of the list. The spine positions are the most important spots on the field and plenty of people spent plenty of time over the last couple of years bagging Mullen and Kidley. Stig is next in line and only has limited experience. Buderus is hooker and has been a high quality player but must have the same question marks over his return as a player like Matt King.

Some people would think these are small risks and others would think they are big ones. If it all works out well for them then they'll do just fine.
