It's a good point, must be the opposition because I never even gave it a second thought.

What I'm telling myself this year is those guys are entitled to have gone away last year, after a shit season, and worked hard to improve.

Well here we go, Tui and Ken still crap & Gubb still ineffective.

I thought Gubb was actually quite good. Tui had some great moments on attack but is still defensively suss. Maumalo is still mud. Next week I'd bring Ayshford into the centers and push Fus to Maumalo's wing unless Manu is back

Can't disagree too much. Play didn't really go Tui's way, and you wish it hadn't gone Ken's way. I feel sorry for him, he's so clearly not a winger. Can't catch, can't hold his position or run onto a pass correctly and as of last year couldn't defend.

Gubb, makes me laugh. Got a roaring reception when he took his first carry off the drop out and 'ran' at glacier pace at the defence. He's just got no leg speed and is sloooow in the play the ball. He's a trier, no doubt, but the grass cutting tackles are gold for the opposition and getting a quick play. Teams will attack him and look to go quick.

I was at that Souths game, they were laughably bad. We were actually running about 12th at the time, still making up for the 4 point cap penalty that would eventually cost us a finals place. We actually took the foot off the gas in that game too, we scored 40+ in the first half and looked like we'd threaten a century at some point.
.
The 66-0 game was in 2007. There was no -4 point penalty

Are you sure? I thought it was 2006... I know we were well out of the 8 at the time, as I remember it coming up in discussion with a Souths fan st the ground.

Manu in for ken, sipley in for gubb.
Hope things aren't bad for Simon and luke.

Gubb keeps his spot for mine but wouldn't mind seeing Sipley in there. Manu for Ken is a no brainer. Would possibly drop Papaali for Clark or Tevaga too. Thompson is not adequate dummy half cover, out attack lost all shape without Luke.

Definitely 2006... I went to the game, and moved out of Sydney at the end of '06... couldn't have been later.

Haha I was at that one too. And one at the SFS where we ran them down with some outrageous tries at the death in maybe 2003. So many good memories at Souffs expense.
