Round 1 v Sharks

Love him with his 'Dorrigo Suntan'.

Let's keep it PG Alice.

There was a moment when the game was in the balance, late on. Dylan Edwards was involved in a tackle, with others to stop a barge over try on the fifth. Dylan was still getting to his feet when the ball was played and the Sharks spun it wide to there right, Dylan Edwards there again involved in a tackle to repel the Sharks resulting in a turnover last tackle. No other fullback in the game is capable of making those defensive plays and he is at 80% match fit. The guy is a freak.

Great moment.

And the opposite from Dufty earlier in the Wigan v Warrington match. That's a bloke who has the ball skills and vision but doesn't ice his moments, makes a lot of errors and isn't exacting that extra 1% to get back onside for his team in D.

Edwards is all quality. Terrific attitude and resilient under fatigue.

Big difference in that was we only had it for a year, well maybe a couple more over your team.
Youse have had it over us for 5 years now.
I was at that game at Kogarah, when it was crowd limited in 2020, and you guys pulverised us.
I distinctly remember thinking "wtf have I just seen?"
I said to one of your supporters on the way out "congrats, that is one of the best displays by a team I've ever seen. You guys are going to go far"
Little did I know how far haha
From 2013 to 2019 Sharks 10 from 11. Since 2020 Panthers beat everybody.

Was that the day of the Staines debut? f**k that was electric, with his mates all sitting in the corner where he scored all those tries.

Our 14 doesn’t really play in the middle at all though. There to cover the backs.

14 for Panthers is a tough gig as our wingers are essentially fast second rowers and you need a bit of skill also to be able to cover a few spine conditions.

Garner can play 80. That with Martin and Yeo. Throw in a hooker who can play 80 and you need limited use for that 14 in most situations

What I mean by tough gig is finding someone with the broad skill set we would ideally want.

Agree that the 14 is an insurance policy you hope you don’t collect on. Today we had to, and we were glad we had it in place.

My run down of game -

Cleary was excellent as always. Same goes for Yeo

Kenny looked a little faster and sharper to my eye.

Leota ran like a bull

Alamoti was great.

Lindsay worked hard.

But my MOM goes to Liam Martin. His kick chases where amazing and two huge moments in the last 10mins to win the game.

The poor -

Tago defense was exposed.

To ploy to go wide to Garner. If you had a legit centre there could of been quite a few breaks. Unsure if I'd start Garner at centre. Ok if off bench due to an Injury to cover. Not that he was poor but a fast centre and the game may of been a blow out
