Round 1 Vs Bulldogs

All of bulldogs tries were off errors and penalities too, that's rugby league. But those 2 tries were clear forward passes. Even my bulldogs mates who i was with at the game agreed. I was in perfect position high up in the stands for the Tracey forward pass to Wilson's try and i couldn't believe the touch judge didn't see it. It was at least 30cm forward honestly go back and watch it
The Wilson try was embarrassingly forward

Was a turning point in the game

I'm conscious that it might be just a grumpy old man thing - but what the hell was with the post try celebrations? I thought it was really poor - if you will excuse the pun. I didn't understand the relevance of the money celebration to CT or his reason for doing it when we were getting beaten. Hopefully someone tells him to pull his head in, because along with 'pie-man' it was an embarrassing footnote to an otherwise OK performance from the team.

Agree. Although a good finisher, had ball twice in midfield overlap and had to concede as didn’t have the pace to challenge.

Nope same Dragons club that merged with Illawarra which has 16 premierships.

If Dragons merged with rabbitohs it depends what the name was, what the club and jersey mainly represented, who owned it. If it was St George Rabbitohs with a Red V then it'll count the St George's premierships from 16 onwards. But if it was more connected to Rabbitohs then it'll count the Rabbitohs premierships and continue onwards. If Illawarra left Dragons then all the Illawarra fans won't support Dragons anymore, they'll support Steelers whereas the St George fans will remain Dragons fans as it's the Dragons club.

Illawarra legit owns 0% of the club. Just because a merger happens doesn't get rid of St George's premierships as part of the St George Illawarra Dragons. Think of Illawarra as more of a feeder club to Dragons with more benefits of having another stadium.

It's also why Wests Tigers have 12 premierships (11 as Balmain and 1 as Wests Tigers). It's the Tigers club.

All I can say is drop the steelers and be a single club....hate mergers ..good luck...if ribot + johns were not greedy ud still be 1 club today...

So by your way of reasoning that means you are no longer a foundation club as that ended when you were kicked out of the comp.

Only having continuous membership and playing every season allows you to make that claim so that means you are no longer the original South Sydney Club you are in fact a new South Sydney club.

That being the case all the premierships prior to being kicked out belong to the original entity therefore your newly formed club has only 1 premiership.

I’ve been wondering why our attack looks so clunky

We’ve had plenty of time training together and played some trials this year and the same last year albeit different players but we always look clunky regardless.

The old adage of “it takes time” is always trotted out but despite being given more time clunky and rushed it always is.

I had originally thought we don’t stand deep enough and probably stand flattish because we are a slow backline and whilst we are a slow side I no longer think that is the main issue.

I now think that our clunky attack is somewhat linked to our slow defensive line speed.

Our opposition always look like they have loads of time due to our slow line speed and lack of pressure and that slow line speed most likely permeates into our opposed training sessions.

Our attack probably looks slick at training and we all high five each other but come game day and an opposition with line speed putting pressure on us, our attack falters as it is probably used to having much more time on the training paddock.

Training faster to enable us to play faster would seem logical but perhaps that is a step too far for our defence coach.

St George ownership - 50% St George Leagues Club / 50% WIN Corporation.
South Sydney ownership - 25% Members / 75% Blackcourt Investments.

Not sure what the point is, Steelers have not been involved for years.

From one old timer to another. Our attack was far from clunky for first 35 and last 20 in Mudgee. Clinical I'd call it. Our defensive line speed was positive as was our attacking line with our middles standing deeper to build steam. We needed to replicate this on the weekend. Why didnt we?

Yes...way too harsh on Ilias. It was a pretty fxcking bad injury he is coming back from. Be patient he'll become a favourite.
:100: Ilias looked polished with ball in hand in Mudgee. Takes some time to build a viable combination with your new halves partner. Personally I reckon Flanno jr is the weak link in this halves combo. He has this season left to convince BOD he deserves to stay a Dragon imo, before Atkinson arrives.

The rabbits did not exist for a year or so. I can argue that when you re entered the competition you were a new entity. I can see how my above statement sound a bit over the top, but what you are stating about St George Illawarra is just your personal wish. In reality it is a continuation of both the St George & Illawarra heritage.
