Two years ago, the raiders played the broncos. My mate wanted to back the broncos so he turned up to my place flashing a +13 broncos victory.. Me being arrogant laughed before heading down to the pub and placing the exact ticket on the raiders.. I won big that day, I think i had a $800 return.

just quietly, I've placed $100 on the raiders at $5.50! Yes I know our record stinks this year and I know the storm are oir guaranteed loss every season, but and it's a big one.. These records eventually collapse, why not this year, right?

I'm waiting for us to play the Dragons before i put some money on us at long odds. A win against the Storm in Melbourne would have to be paying over $10 before I put money on us.

Took 8 rounds too long to get Mataora in there, what a beast he was. Papalii was solid, got the Thurling treatment sadly. Fensom played like Gallen with his runs and offloading, easily his best game and never to be benched for Miller again.

Williams solid and very composed to finish the game off. Ferguson quiet but wow what a try to win it and it all started when JT passed the ball!

Negatives more tactics such as not getting the ball to the right more often, Ferguson showed what can happen when we go there. Miller tries hard but doesn't get the meters, Thurling would be a better bet on this front.

First AWESOME game... THAT is what I was expecting from the players from week one and the FIRST time we have seen it! No Shillington or TLL in the team, wonder if that's part of the reason as they have been a downer on the team all year I think...

Mataora was good but... In regards to the comment before this one (aussies1st) he was TERRIBLE last week... The team was terrible but he knocked on and gave away penalties... This week he was much improved but saying it took 8 rounds to get him in there is a bit much... he wasn't ready last week, although the run may have done him good...

I also thought Miller did pretty f**king well for a 2nd rower in a props position... Can't ask for much more... Papalii was good, hope to see more of him even when Shillington and TLL are back... White actually played well finally too!

As for Ferguson, agreed he didn't get the ball often enough but that said I was surprised he wasn't out on the wing a few times, like the first time we started passing it wide in our own half, Thompson was on the wing... The 2nd time Ferguson was there, and try (benefit of the doubt try but still, f**king AWESOME effort!)

I couldn't even remember this feeling (being happy about footy) so glad it's back, even if we are VERY VERY VERY long odds to make the finals!

lopati of qld says… Today at 7:34 PM
Well done the machine, I tipped against them (who didn't) but to their credit they pulled it off by great skill, almost perfect defence and finally some potency in attack. Refs were good too, very few bad calls (understandable given vantage and speed of play) - a breath of fresh air after the piss poor job by Chechin on Friday night. Only thing I did pick up from the game was the Melbourne crowd may be dedicated, but have no understanding of the rules, wailing like banshee's when absolutely nothing was done wrong.

^ That... I was worried that poor call against us near the end was going to hurt us but the team defenced strong (like they did last year!) and it didn't mean anything for a change :) Also agree that the crowd was pissing me off big time... I know they can't hear that the ref hasn't called held, etc but FFS... learn the game! Good effort from the refs...

Actually come to think of it I give the refs a LOT of shit... they should get a "f**king good job" for that one... Both of them should be the SoO refs after that performance! I'll blame the touchie for the poor call on Robinson :D

Obviously exaggerated but he should have been in the side a lot earlier. He did some silly stuff but he was making almost 10 meters per a run last week and over it this week, if that is crap then I'd hate to think what everyone in our team has been like.

I thought Mataora was pretty good last week - one of the few who could hold his head high. Solid game this week - hes going to be good for us.

Brett White displayed the form he SHOULD have been displaying all year. Hopefully he has turned the corner.

That papala kid has a lot of promise, I'd like him and mateora in the same squad.

My $100 "investment" paid out alright, $550 haha.

I'm not even going to give individual wraps, the team was fantastic!

I put $50 on the raiders, got $225. Just had a strange feeling they would win it after the last 2 gutless losses.
