Its bye bye to the Dragons- meaning that if Flanno is going to continuously pick players like Sloan when they are both out of their depth and, in Sloan's case, showing all the signs of sulking, then the upcoming two byes before Round 16 are the only points we will pick up over the next seven rounds. The Warriors, Broncos, Knights, Dolphins and Sharks all have better teams than us- although- and I can't believe I'm saying this, I rate the Broncs as the team we may have the best chance against.
So much for Flanno's aggressive boast that we won't be picking up the spoon. Open...Wide
Who would you like to replace Sloan? Not that easy mate.
CT injured . Finau out of his depth , Lawson untried . And look what happen to finau when he played! Don’t think Flanno wants a repeat of a player who isn’t ready!
Next option is IF FIT Ramsey , though contract would need to be upgraded..

You've just answered your own question- Ramsey is motivated (ie isn't sulking like Sloan) and has proved his fitness by being a standout in all the KOE matches I've seen this year. Upgrade him for the wing.

I think just him getting up for these cup games are a huge deal. Quite sure he’s still 10kg maybe 15kg off previous playing weight.

Though if he’s ready (which he’s shown) and staff and himself are happy he should definitely be upgraded and in.
Do hope to see him back. Shows so much heart.

There is plenty of coaches waiting for the right opportunity. Burgess (UK), Hannay, Arthur, Walters, Slater, Morris, Chieka, Toovey, S McNamara (UK), Holbrook, Demetriou, Taylor, Daley, Walker brothers, S wane (UK), Kearney, Pay, Furner that's just off the top of my head. Coaches get sacked that's part of the business and Flanno has lost control of the ship let's see if he can get it back on course or he will be goneski.

Honestly Ramsay is a special player and person. Would probably be better for him to play cup this season and get some miles in the legs before a massive preseason. He will be in our 17 every week next year if he stays healthy just don't think we should throw him to the wolves just yet.

That's a good list and a few others to add would be some assistants from good systems like Gardiner/Wallace (Penrith), King (Roosters), Aaron Bellamy (Craig's son) Marc Bretnall (Melbourne).

This is just a very rough list from both of us, but I'm sure a few will try to shoot all of these names down now and say there's no one better than the almighty Flanno out there 😂

He never will mate. We need to stop wasting our energy on him.
As you’ve all said. He comes up with no solution..

The problem you have with that list is firstly none have a premiership and secondly they might be available but do they want the poisoned chalice of coaching a train wreck of a club that if you have your way would sack a coach after 18 months. Just remember neither Fitzgibbon nor Ryles wanted anything to do with us as they knew that it could be the ruin of them.

Have you actually looked at Ramsey? He’s VERY skinny. Would get slaughtered in first grade at his current weight. It would be irresponsible to even consider him.
I really hope he gets back to the NRL but it’s highly unlikely it will happen in 2025.
Hopefully a full year of NSW cup under his belt and a good preseason and he’ll be pushing for selection in ‘26.

That list is laughably bad. Half failures, half untried in the NRL. You’re on some fantastic drugs.
Now I know why I don’t click on “show ignored comments” more often.

Weak individual that's why, ignore means ignore. There's apparently no other coaches out there.. well that's well and truly debunked.

I am far from going Pollyanna on our club and have been critical of the management , mainly that they are responsible for one of the worst rosters in the comp & no visability on who is responsible for recruitment & retention. I am hoping the new CEO has bigger balls than spider ever showed & demands professionalism in all management , or out you go.
We are in a holding pattern at present, waiting for the 6 or 7 juniors to come through but yes we need to be very active on the marketplace as well. The CEO needs to drive it. BUT I personally can’t see the point in putting the shit into the team consistently better than any of our enemies can.
Id assume most come on here to get news on the team & club & yes sometimes voice their disapproval ( it is a discussion forum after all ) but I would guess that most don’t come on here to listen to 100% bagging out on everything the club & team do.
Great post

The majority of coaches don't have a premiership to their name, doesn't make them a bad coach or a worse coach than Flanagan.
Some of the best coaches in the game are still unknown quantities and we won't know until they're actually given a chance.
I don't think the dogs would regret taking a punt on Ciraldo, the warriors on Webster and the Sharks on Fitzy.
Ryles will earn his stripes in the coming seasons as well IMO.
There's no reason why we can't identify our next head coach and head hunt them and work with them to give them the structure/support they need to be successful along with the team. Just because Fitzy and Ryles said no, doesn't mean it isn't worth trying with other up and coming coaches.

The facts of the matter speak for themselves, Flanagan has less than a 50% win record at the dragons. This year thus far the team is looking in worse shape than it did last year.
Flanagan had a stint as an assistant coach/list manager here during the Mary years and obviously didn't have an impact then and at this time, clearly isn't having the impact he should as head coach.
Flanagan's predecessor was given 18-24 months, so the same standard should apply to Flanagan. It's a fair amount of time to have put your stamp on the team, cleaned out the roster/recruited/retained etc. Remember Flanagan only has a 3 year deal, so he would know the drums are starting to beat louder and that's fair enough, he has been given a good amount of time to fix things and so far we're seeing little reward for his efforts.

Would you and others prefers the Mary approach and give Flanagan 5-6 seasons of excuses before we finally pull the pin on the mediocrity?

2-3 seasons is plenty of time and I would also remind that you no one on the forum suggested Flanagan needed more time than this from the beginning, nor should they now.

Yes you're right, there's no one better than Flanno after all.

Let's just sign him and Kyle up to life time contracts and build statues for them both.

Great post. I'm sure you will be on a few ignored list but people can't handle the truth. And it's on record that the senior players at the sharks completely disregarded Flannos gameplans during the GF year it's on the podcast with James Graham. He got lucky he had the players he had all in their prime

Good to see another debutant this week in LPT, hoping he’s as good as Egan and Stewart, love those guys!
Warriors are bloody good this year, however It’s the kind of game we win. I still cannot believe that game last week, still depressed.
Feels like do or die already doesn’t it, cannot afford to drop this game, must win.
