The increased likelihood of a back having to come from the field compared to say 5 years ago. And with a free interchange on offer, it won't impact too much on forward rotations.
I understand about the free interchange but why is there a greater likeliehood that a back would come from the field compared to five years ago?

Wouldn't say great back rower yet but yeah he will keep building no doubt mate.

I can see him in say a month getting a spot on the bench. He will rip in for Norths. Gotta stay disciplined off field and on field to and not give silly penalties away!

If I recall earlier at the start of the season he turned up to training late??

We have good competition for spots which is great.

Nicholls wasn't doing anything wrong and even he's missed the last match or 2.
Where did you here that shit about fui's punctuality from my friend?he is nearly always first there in the morning, and last 2 leave

Because five years ago, you wouldn't interchange a back unless they were seriously injured. Nowadays, if they cop a knock to the head, you have to take them off, at the very least for a concussion test.
Thankyou sir, I hadn't thought of it along those lines, the problem is that if there is no HIA to one of the backs then an interchange has been wasted.

True but I'll refer back to a reserve goalkeeper in soccer - most weeks they turn up with everyone expecting them to sit for the duration of the match.
A reserve back doesn't necessarily need to be an injury only reserve as sometimes the course a game takes may call for fresh legs (think Peachey in round 2) but if 1-7 are healthy and playing well then there is no need for 14 to be used. Not the most appealing role, sure but one that is becoming necessary imo, especially when the interchange cap drops to 6.

In Souths case I would have been thinking to move Angus or Fui (when available) to the backline and use another forward.

When Fuimaono returns he very well could become the 14 like he did against Penrith. Best of both worlds and we have a lot of flexibility 1-5 to allow for him to replace one of the backs if needed.
Crichton i feel stays on the edge unless it's an emergency. The idea behind it would be to still play to our strengths as much as possible in the other 12 positions. My thought process anyway.

League app said both RTS and Lino could be out. As well as Johnson. It was suggested Hiku to fullback and Tohu Harris into the halves! If true it certainly bodes well for Souths

I've heard about Lino but not RTS, what's the reason for him possibly being out?

I know he missed last week but that was because his wife was due for their first child. I expect him to play but it would help us if he didn't.

Either way, Warriors are a good side this year and we're gonna have to be on our toes for this one.

I thought that was why he was left out of the round 1 side due to that. Remember he got told to sit it out after being named and @southsport remeber the rumour about it being a disciplinary thing. Rumour doing the rounds was he turned up late and slept in. I can't quite remember where though.

RTS and Johnson out, that appeals to me somewhat.
I read somewhere today that RTS said he wouldn't miss this home match but if it was away he wouldn't play. His partner just had their first kid I believe! Hence he was out last week!

I fully expect RTS to play!
