Where are you going to play him?

Gower to the bench, Marata starting. Gower / mannah to provide middle back up from the bench with Alvaro / Brown playing longer minutes (which they are able to do).

Obviously depending how the game goes, Salmon gets time on the edge.

Way too small for edge back row. How much edge forward has he played for Wenty? Hasn’t he been either 6 or centre most of the time?

a few kgs light at this stage of his career, but he has the build to play edge and he has to debut somewhere. 20 mins at edge is a good start.

Yes hasn’t made edge at Wenty has in junior reps.

He will only debut as an edge player once he has shown he can handle it at Wenty - which he hasn’t. Junior reps means SFA.

It means he has an understanding of the position but obviously hasn’t been tested against better oposition.

If he can defend at centre he can defend at edge, plus he has shown he has a running game. At edge he wouId have more room then in the halves to use his running game.

Don’t you think if BA was looking at him as an edge player today (or in the near future) he would have had him playing there for wenty ?

Even BA isn’t that stupid.

Just because someone can defend at centre doesn’t mean they can play on the edge, particularly when they are undersized and don’t have the work rate required.

In junior footy, edge forward is actually a great place to put your best player if he has a bit of size. They're close enough to the action to get heavily involved but still wide enough to not get worn out with defensive work and also get some space in attack. Salmon isn't big for an NRL player but he would have been bigger than most kids in his age group teams. Jack Bird played edge forward for the Dragons NYC side. BJ Leilua played in the forwards for Endeavour Sports as well.
