All 3 tries again don Semis edge, that may need some work

A pleasing victory, but that biatch DUI Bec continues the Telecrap agenda by questioning BAs involvement in tthe cap drama, suggesting he is guilty.of knowing. Read that rag while grabbing a coffee this afternoon, couldn't believe how much space they gave to AFL, and they use her to comment on league when she is a AFL ambassador, unbelievable bias.

I'm a massive fan of Brad Arthur but I think it's impossible that he didn't know. Or the players.

We saw the best and worst of Gordon tonight, mistakes all over the place. Scores a good back up try, then doesn't pass to Semi after a break, hands over th ball in their 10, puts French into trouble by not taking the tackle, doesn't take bombs on more than one occasion.

Kicks well,,then misses at the end from an easy positionn, he does compete but has seen better days

Gordon won't be here next year, why would you or anyone care what he does with so much interest and passion for this match or for the rest of the season?

Apparently we didn't beat Newcastle last game.

Parramatta Eels finally find top form in the Top End with win against Gold Coast Titans

Published: June 11, 2016 - 8:23PM

Parramatta have won their first NRL game since being rocked by salary cap allegations, edging in-form Gold Coast 22-12 in Darwin.

Just a day after the club responded to show-cause notices for alleged cap rorting, star Corey Norman and Kaysa Pritchard lifted the Eels on Saturday to their eighth win of the season.

Down 8-0 after just 13 minutes, Parramatta responded with 22 straight points, ending the Titans' four-game winning streak and leaving them hanging on to eighth spot.

The Eels had lost all three games since allegations surfaced of salary cap breaches, which are likely to see them stripped of 12 competition points, all but ending any hope of a 2016 finals appearance.

In front of a crowd of 7,722 at TIO Stadium, the Eels led 20-8 in the 64th minute on Saturday when Nathan Peats was penalised for dissent, gifting his former team two points.

The indiscretion came moments after Norman sliced through a tiring Titans defence in the 60th minute and handed off to Kaysa Pritchard to finish a 55-metre movement and seal victory.

Earlier, Parramatta shrugged off a slow start to take a 12-8 lead into halftime.

In-form Titans halfback Ashley Taylor laid on two tries for his side in the opening 20 minutes, including a no-look cutout pass for Anthony Don in the sixth minute.

Taylor again linked up with his right winger five minutes later - this time through the boot - with Don tapping back for Agnatius Paasi to pounce.

The game turned when the former Brisbane talent almost set up a third try in the 27th minute.

A pass intended for Josh Hoffman was picked off by opposite centre Clinton Gutherson, who then offloaded for Bevan French to race 80 metres to score against the run of play.

Norman orchestrated his team superbly, while Pritchard's injection in the second half was also key, although the hooker was put on report for a second-half high shot on Will Zillman.

For the Titans, Taylor and prop Luke Douglas tried hard in a losing team, while mid-season recruit Konrad Hurrell, in his first game for the club, struggled in the warm conditions and failed to see out the match.

Didn't expect a win after the first 10. It was a very solid win. Decent defence.

I think tonight showed why BA let peats go and only made a small offer the de gois, Pritchard was great. His defence is pretty good, but his pace out of dummy half really gives us a lot more in attack.

And two LBAs. How many LBAs did Peats or De Gois get in over two seasons?

Gordon won't be here next year, why would you or anywhere care what he does for the rest of the reason?

What, can't have an opinion on someone who is in the team , I care about the team and your comment doesn't make a lot of sense. We should ignore player performance this season if they won't be at the club next season, really :crazy:

I'm sure we know how. It's just that we lack height in our forwards. The key to slowing the opposition ruck is holding the man up while stopping the offload. That requires tall forwards (or short ones with long arms).

Different sport but that is actually one of the key physical measurements (long arms) for the Seattle Seahawks. They look for cornerbacks with 32" (~81cm) arms because the extra reach allows them to make plays on the ball that they otherwise would be boxed out of (it also plays into press coverage as well but that is for another thread).

I think you could make a serious case for that sort of athletic profile in props, backrowers and wingers primarily.

Decent win. Nothing spectacular but it will keep us within reach of the Top 4.

Windscreens didn't embarrass himself, which was a plus.

Of course it doesn't make sense, where is anywhere for starters? And we need to know the first part of the reason before we can worry about the rest

Good performance. I was feeling worried in the first 15 mins, but we bustled our way back into the match and kept up our momentum when it mattered most.

Good to have another win under their belts, and on form we should be able to smash Souths next round.

Can someone tell me why we got the penalty when Zillman knocked on the kick? I missed something.

Fox were channeling Channel 9 with unnecessary amounts of replays of the knock on at the time but from the short bit I picked up from the ref mic, I think Peats gave the ref a bit of lip about the call.

Top 4? Gonna be difficult when we lose 12 points next week, no?

It does keep us in the hunt for the finals though, which I'm chuffed about..

Mr AAP must have switched channel just before the video ref decision came in

Even more appallingly, 2UE have been running with it on every news bulletin this morning.

"The Eels first win since the salary cap scandal started" they keep saying.

I think the Club has moved on to 2017 already, so yes I think us fans should do the same.
