I disagree, Aiton has been poor this season, good for 2-3 forward passes a game, plus he has no kicking game and his ruck defense has been our demise in many games. I see no real drop off with Peters in there, would rather see Iosefa start though.

Aiton is 100% sharper than Peters and probably 50% sharper than Priddis at dummy half.

Elliot gives him all of 10-15 minutes at dummy half and the rest of his game time is spent taking hit ups.

Aiton plays well above his weight and always makes good yardage when he carts it up.

My opinion is that Aiton needs to be given a full 80 minutes at hooker and I best my left testicle that he will come up with the goods.

This is just my 2 cents.

You are one of the posters here that I really respect in relation to your football knowledge, I know you that you probably know a sh*tload more about footy than I do, but based on the games that I have watched (and I have only missed 3 this season) Aiton has been disappointing.

The ruck defense falls apart when he is on, the timing of his service out of dummy half is poor and not fluid (thus forward passes) as he can't decide whether to pass or run, he has no kicking game whatsoever and I truly believe that his only strength (his running game) has diminished in the past 2 years as teams know it's the only thing he can do, at one point every time he ran the ball he was getting smashed.

Fair enough ME doesn't give him much time, but hell most young hookers start off only playing 20 or so minutes off the bench. The key is that the good young players develop their game and they show enough during this time to warrant releasing the older veteran to give them the full time job (e.g. Ballin, Keating, etc). The reality is that Aiton was great 2 years ago when his running game was top notch, however he has regressed since and has not developed sufficiently to warrant letting him stand in the way of Iosefa. Now whether Peters is better than Aiton I don't know, but I saw no drop off with Peters there last week, I would prefer to have Iosefa start and Aiton on the bench as his running game can create a spark.

I agree his timing is a bit off song, but you try and get into a game of FG footy playing a mix of dummy half and first receiver hit up and see how you're timing is?

I hear exactly where you are coming from, but I don't think ME has given him a fair crack this year. Peter is ok, but as I said and reinforce, Aiton is a FG player and Peters isn't. Simple as that.

When I witness Peters run over the top of 100kg opposition forwards and tackle front rowers one on one, you may convince me otherwise.

Anyway. Looking foward to Coote having a crack.

That is exactly right.

I am not saying Peters is better than Aiton, but Aiton has not impressed me this year. Good to see him give Peters another go. This is the game for Graham and Peters to impress the coach to keep their spots

I think to all you PRIDDIS AND PETERS fans out there. Take a note of how Michael Ennis played tonight (Friday night) and how he has played this year.

Luke Priddis was the best hooker in the NRL in 2003, but he is now pedestrian and over the hill. Ennis = 300% better than Priddis. Masada can be as good or better than Ennis, but that idiot (ME) needs to COACH him and give him a crack.

Alot of you posters have been bagging Aiton, but he is the best dummy half runner in the club. The reason he isn't playing well is because Elliot doesn't let him run from dummy half and we are just horrible in the ruck area. We get dominated by other sides week in, week out. We need to sack our wrestling coach and get the ruck sorted out. I've seen U/6 teams dominate and control the ruck area better than we do.
