Round 16 vs Eels

IMO this match has the recipe for disaster against the cellar dwellers. Our team always seems to have the capability to play other teams back into form. Combine that with the severe criticism of the Hayne Plane plus Brad Arthur putting the entire team on notice to remain beyond 2018, it will be very tough tonight.
Complacency along with mental & physical fatigue will be huge hurdles for the Dragons to overcome. I wish I was confident, but I'm not.

At least one person says pretty much the exact same thing before every match we play.

Every team we've played below the top 8 theres always comments about that this is a DANGER GAME, or we usually struggle against this team, this is the time of the year that causes us trouble, disaster is coming, etc. Yet, we're sitting OUTRIGHT 1ST at the end of all that squabble.

Let the chips fall where they may from here on out until the finals. Every game played in the finals is the REAL DEAL, getting beat by parramatta, or the eagles, or whoever it is means 0 come finals time. Im sure every team in the top 6 at the moment has had a loss that was a surprise.

It happens every year and itll continue to happen every year after this.

Still think we'll win tonight though ;) haha

It’s a litmus test.

My gut feeling is we will win this game because:

1) Our SOO players are on a mental high and will be keen to show they are rep players
2) The Pommies crushed NZ, so Widdop and Graham will also be running high on adrenalin
3) Parra is last for a reason, they are dead drop ugly over 80 minutes
4) Our hooker and fullback will carve up the Eels through the middle
5) Aitken will have a big game
6) Benny Hunt will be keen to put in a big game to erase his memory of SOO 2

Key is we need to start fast.

Playing at home we got this one.

Agree Saints Forever , it shall be a tough game regardless . The Eels have had a good break and I believe that they will come out and put on one of their better performances of the year tonight . If they have any respect for their club they will need to and also as a mark of respect to Brad Arthur - the man is no dummy .

But what I am most interested in seeing is the point that you made about the Dragon rep players showing that they have the ability to play on and show the experience and skills of true seasoned representative players . As many others have already said - Hunt to play a great game - a far better player than those lug-heads of the media may suggest .

Every forum requires a harbinger of doom and gloom.

Consider this:

1. a short turn around.

2. wet conditions which won't aid fatigued Origin players.

3. Parra has been a bogey side for as long as I care to remember.

4. Saints haven't put in a consistent, 80 minutes display since the Melbourne game eons ago

And finally, (perhaps most importantly) the rain has prevented me from wearing my lucky pizza socks tonight.

Just don't feel the vibe this evening. Sorry, I think the Dragons are stuffed.
