Not to be dramatic but it feels a bit like the beginning of the end.
Imagine you are Shane right now.
Your players aren't doing what you wish them to and your defensive coach isn't helping. Injuries are starting to pile up as they do in every team.
Your son is facing the heat and the finger is now pointed at you. You realise he is playing like trash but you are insanely stubborn and he is your son after all.
You realise you have barely secured any new players for next year while your team is plummeting towards last place at present.
By now you should have stamped your impression on the first grade team but most of the positives have come from juniors, still very much untapped players.
You're at a club that will give you time and space but offer nothing else in the way of support.
It's approaching two full seasons and the Dragons are as bad as they ever were.
Remember how many times Mary reminded us he'd be staying up to 2am trying to work stuff out in the weeks before he got the punt. This is starting to feel like that. You can get angry at Shane but then again, no one really wants to coach at this club as it is a very lonely place to be.
