A much needed win. Tonight was very much the start of a very tough run to the end of the season for us, and it was important to get off to a winning start.

The second half was much the same story as the previous two matches. Just couldn't get out of our end. The rest of the comp has seemingly worked out how to play us. We were a blade of grass away - at 26-all, I find it difficult to see how we possibly go on to win the match.

It's going to be an uphill battle the rest of the season with the troops we've got. Let's move to that youth policy. Everything to gain, nothing to lose.

Fun fact - the last time I attended a game where we won, before today, was vs Souths at Kogarah on 10th June 2023. That's 2 years and 18 days. Admittedly, this was only the 12th game I've been able to get to live since that time. Had we lost today from a 22 point lead at half time, you all might have needed to get a ban on me from attending games ever again !

To say that I'm relieved to break this duck, is an understatement.

Anyway - UP THE MIGHTIES !!

So good on the hill tonight. Large bunch of teenagers next to us, energy levels were insane when we scored, made me feel young again.

Very good attacking shape first half.

Second half Eels did the same thing as they did in the first game at Parra stadium, except this time we held them out - just.

My word Zach copped some stick. Well done though he didn’t react, didn’t celebrate his try, and signed autographs after the game, even though he lost.

Well done to Fifita, and LKT’s running game was good. Gutho’s talk was important tonight. Proper effort from the whole team.

Val’s second try, a full stadium screaming, what an adrenaline rush that was. God I love this game.

Can we make the 8? Bloody hell that would be good. Stupidly hard run-in. Stranger things have happened.

KT is our future had a blinder tonight his running game and kicking game let to 2 tries getting better every week.
How will we structure next year, assuming we don't sign any halves?

6. Atkinson
7. LKT

This?

If Kyle is the reason LKT goes back to reserves, I'll give it away.

With Liddle and Cook both deserving of their spot there's no place for Kyle as a utility, other than a depth player. Of course that he scored a try and played okay tonight Senior will have us believe he is an immortal. I'm sorry if people have bullied him online as that's low but he will never be part of a premiership team moving forward, pure and simple. Has had many years to prove himself.

I'm not saying King-Tongia is on the same plane, but Katoa took a good two years to really make a name for himself at the Dolphins, and now he is being talked about for rep honours and will be a generational player. I think we need to stick with LKT now through the thick and thin as he is showing his wares, and is improving slowly yet surely in a pretty rubbish team.

I’m glad we got the win. Gutho, Val, we’re great. Allan is a classy player.
I’ve been very critical of him, but Flano jrn pointing the emblem always gets me going. I still don’t think he is our long term 7, but he is all effort. It’s obvious that we need to play out of our skin to get these types of wins. It’s not something we can consistently do over a long season. Flanno has his work cut out.

I was really impressed with Fifita tonight. Well done to them all but I thought he had presence out there. Looks a big mobile lad. And came on to the ball. I think he'll be there next week, especially with our injury toll. Will be interesting to see how he goes in the tough weeks ahead if he gets a run.

Sooo many injuries for us this season!! As good as our first half was, and as the coaches have said the cause of our losses the last two week were the forwards was once again true . Just lucky we got by yesterday.
our backs five really carried this team tonight . Best game Suli has played with great early ball .
forward stats we should be worried about :

Klemmer leading forward 105m
JDB 102
Sua 96
Next best Fifita at 68
Guler 58
Couchman 49.

These stats alone should tell you the story!! We just aren’t getting enough go forward to lay a platform for anyone! Yes maybe Kyle’s kicks within our half need to be longer and try finding grass though as we seen in the second half, no forward platform halves are useless!
We desperately need an alpha prop, Couchman not an edge player as stats on the edge have been poor, think with his agility Deffs a mobile frf.

Saying that, depth will really be tested next week. Probably Hanagalu or tsougaris if Luch is out.
Toby & Stewart out!!
Sele & Loko probs close also. Sele played decent at 13 in cup yesterday.
