I reckon V Fafita was told - you have one game to secure your future .
That hit up from the kick-off was intense.
I'm hoping the abundance of youth peers - lifts his performance.

He does seem to get fatigued very quickly.. a shame.. not sure he has the motor needed.

Shiloh & Jeffro;
l would love to know how many games VFifita has played this year in reggies and what sort of mins he has been getting. My concerns would be if he is injured again because he hobbled off and has injury history. But as you have suggested you would also like to see him gain and hold some match fitness - just cut him a little slack as he may need a few constant games. He did make them tackle him and they do have a bit of size in their pack. He has something to build on. l think his next directive from the coaches will be how many times can you reproduce those types of runs and his defence seemed solid too - whether its in firsts or seconds.
l missed the first bit of reggies but LKP showed a few glimpses of 'leadership'. A bit of come on lads follow me. Fortunately for him we have what looks like a few injuries coming out of the weekend. So he might get the chance to reload and do it in firsts straight away, l hope he looks dirty about being 'dropped'.

We needed those 2 points but geez Parra are horrible honestly. Titans Parra spoon bowl we will be lucky to finish 14th or 13th
I really thought Parra threw a lot at us. In the first half we "found" their two centres and Suli and Lawson had field days on either side of the field.
In the second half we struggled to get the ball and had a few 50/50 calls go against us. We all could see that we were out on our feet at times. The day started out like we were never gonna be beaten and to some regards we were never beaten. Agreed at times it was as close as that thin touch line and (maybe even some extra grass attached to Ado-Carr's boots) - but at the end of the day - 2 points is 2 points. I am sure that JDB had a tear in his eye at the end... (and not because of the crusher tackle)... we had a lot of guys who wanted it more than parra on the day. So we all get the opportunity to enjoy it. And if anyone thinks that is "spin" well... l don't give a rats - that was a gutsy win by a side who wasn't gonna lay down.

Another match I will never watch the replay of...

To be fair they have no one on the bench but that linesman saved us...
You should watch it - l hear it is getting great reviews.... it has an amazing finish that not many saw coming...
And in fairness l was at the ground thinking - surely not again. Especially when we kicked to go 12 in front... l mean we should never go 12 in front again - right !!! My mate said to me its ok they can't loose it from here - sure there was only 2 mins to go - but I wasn't totally convinced. With 30 to go l felt better (30 secs that is).

Are we any chance against raiders ?
probably not !!! but on form are they really going any better than the Donkeys and Storm - and we held on to beat both of them.
At least we have this week to smile and maybe even look up the number for where to get GF tickets if we do go on a run to the finals. You just never know eh?

Raiders away - No Chance
Roosters- St George Dragons had the wood on them, back in the 90's, No Chance
Cowboys away No Chance
Cronulla Yeah Nuh
Souths- Highly Unlikely
Manly- Possible
We've had over a decade of underachievement. The spirit of the Red V deserves better. I just don’t see the culture or cattle to turn it around this season — and the schedule doesn’t help."
Injuries, Illawarra name , DY doesn’t help either.
That's why I hope everyone enjoyed last nights game it COULD be last win of the season, hopefully they'll jag a couple to avoid the wooden spoon.
It really hurts me to write this - but l have had enough of this sh*t. And this isn't aimed at any one individual. This is what we all should think of ourselves.
Ohh the "Spirit of the Red V and what it deserves"... as ratified by the legions of so called supporters on this website.
The "Culture" of our once great club... that has now turned into a kick any player who doesn't win and a bitch-a-thon amongst ourselves on when we should get rid of something.... anything just sack somebody or we won't get anywhere !!!
Because culture comes from winning right... well no, actually it comes from standing by your mates, displaying great morals, great ethics... breeding good habits within your group. Creating an environment that will enable good people to achieve good things.
And bugger me - that "Illawarra name" that drags us all down. Why can't they just piddle off and leave us to be right... with our Immorals like Changa (oops hang on he came from the gong)... well anyway my fav player was Lord Ted (oops we got him from Dapto Canaries)... Well Slippery - he was our little general when times were good and we had all the culture in the world (oops Canaries again plus l don't recall him even having the perfect kicking game of a halfback but we cheered him anyway)...
You know l reckon culture comes from really cheering for YOUR team. Yeah winning feels good - but it only feels good because losing cuts so deep. Maybe culture comes from your leader making a stand... like our Capt Cook making a stand. As he said we support OUR coach and OUR half back. Afterall they were part of the main team that would not lie down on Saturday Night. As a team they stood and to a man they gave their best against the odds. If that ain't having culture and making a stand then l am at a loss to remember what is was like back before, when we just integrated many great players from the gong into our previous culture laden teams of the past.
Back then any small sized halfback in a Red V jersey, who pulled himself over the tryline with 2 or 3 slimmy Eels on his back, if he got up and pointed to the crest on his Red V with pride and conviction... he would have been cheered just as loudly as Lord Ted was in the 77 GF. Back then when we had culture he would have been considered 'one of us'. Flanagan only gets a game because he has a dad. And the defence we displayed last game - that sure was tested at times... well Dean Young must of had the night off (or got to the game late because the 2nd half we were terrible).
Isn't it lucky we didn't have the inter webby back in 77 because a large percentage of the people on here would probably have bagged Teddy for taking a dive and not getting back up after scoring in the 77 GF (only us old codgers will understand that).
The fact of the matter is that every one of us REAL Red V supporters DO have spirit. The True Red V supporters do see the future of our great club to includes the Illawarra just like it has in the past. We believers just like the sign says... we are one of those "mad Dragons Supporters" that any stranger will tell us about when we mention we support St George.
Isn't it about time that we all recognise that the centres of our last great premiership win contained a perfect blend of great Red and Whites (Cooper and Gasiner). The best of Kogarah and WIN if you like. That is where you will find our spirit these days... and we will give any game our best shot... but it would be a hell of a lot easier to win if our so called supporters didn't continue trying to win a civil war that should have died that night in 2010 when we finally avenged 38-0 forever. This is OUR great Club... with all its culture and it will be forever filled with the spirit of our past.
If there is anyone that doesn't believe in the culture of OUR club, who doesn't think that OUR club has spirit, why don't you go and get...
well let's not go there, our culture is strong and we don't fight amongst ourselves.
And if anyone thinks that is just spin, l really don't give a rats... l only wanted the ones who really care to make a stand for the greater good.

Shit it’s is not that hard to kick a field goal; everyone was bagging Ilias earlier in the year… is it a communication thing, confidence thing, don’t do it at practice thing..? ? ?
I watched parts of the replay and in the interview at end of game KF said they’d spoken about a field goal and Gutho had wanted to “play football” in other words try and score a try.
Now if it were the Melbourne team full of Smith, Cromk, Slater etc or the Brisbane team of the 90’s that played with swagger sure I’d get that because those teams could pull tries out of their @ss. But we are the 2025 Dragons, the ugly step child of the McGregor / Griffin years - we can’t pull tries out of our @ss - just set up and try kick the bloody field goal please!

Couldn’t agree more mate! Mind you if they’re the ugly ducking or the White Swan - I’d still lobby to “kick the bloody field goal…”
