Ok, let's start with those who definitely won't play due to injury, HIA or SOO.

Feagai, T. Couch, Stewart, VAL, R. Couch, Egan.

Now, those who probably won't play.

Leilua, Su'a, Lawson & possibly Fifita

That's 9 - 10 players out of your top 30, and I believe we have 2 or 3 places to fill by tomorrow.

That equates to only 18 (possibly only 17) from your top squad available.

We can only hope for a miracle against the ladder leaders. It's happened before, let's just ALL get behind the team, whoever dons the RED V and give them our support.

Therefore, without knowing who we may announce as signed tomorrow, my team V Raiders is:

1. Gutho
2. Allen
3. Suli
4. NT
5. Sloan/ Finau
6. LKT
7. KFlan
8. Guler
9. Cook (also has injury)
10. Klem
11. JH
12. Ray (because we have no-one else)
13. JDB
14. Lids
15. Sele
16. Cake
17. Loko

The Media are now spruiking how high the Raiders will finish with such a soft draw in the Final rounds esp playing Us and Knights twice
Im sure Flanno will pump up our 17 with a "they give us no hope this week , so lets show them ' narrative..........
they do have a habit of nodding off in some games , so heres hoping
Would seriously give some of our youngsters a First Grade opportunity in preference to the Group who are unlikely to be in the Top 30 for next Year
Fifita got his chance yesterday and took his opportunity with both hands

I feel like I need to remind people that Fifita looks like the worlds best prop forward for about 2-5 runs per match.. after that he is gassed and starts dropping off tackles and making errors.

If you made a highlights reel it would be epic.. Tonga doesnt even in the same stratosphere in terms of his impact and post contact metres.. however Tonga is ~20yrs old, Viliame is 24.. Tonga hopefully has a better motor and hence ceiling we 'hope'.

That has been Viliames gold standard for 3 years in NSW Cup.. and mix in various injuries, the big one being the lis franc injury that prevented him from training all preseason and most of this season, so that has not helped his fitness.. now hes injured again.. its not great.. its actually one of the reasons im nervous about losing Jack, hes never injured...

I was probably one of the only ones thinking Viliame's trial against parra was a good idea (after previously writing him off), because he had his best game ever the week before in cup.. he really turned a corner.. and in terms of impact.. he can bring that.. we just better hope no props get injured during the game because you do not want him doing more than 15-20mins (with a break in the middle).

I dont think Viliame will ever have a motor that is up for genuine NRL.. but as an impact prop with very short minutes.. as long as we have fit couchmans and egan and stewart and big minute players around him.. then maybe we can make it work.. you probably cant play him and Tonga in the same game though, until Tonga develops further and can hold his own with longer minutes (right now we also use him as an impact low minute prop).

Close enough I think. Potentially could have hanagalu over RFM,
Doubt finau will ever pull a first grade jersey on again after roosters. Even in cup defensively so poor

Great post! If we can eventually get Fifita to 10-15 mins a spell X 2 that would be nice. As you said fitness is his killer atm.

Canberra doesn't like playing against a big forward pack. If Sele is not up to it, then I suggest Jett Liu who has been playing well in reserve-grade.

Probably out next week ......Lawson, Tuipoloto, Hamish Stewart, TCouchman, Luciano.

Bloody tough assignment even with Young and Pappa out for Canberra at Canberra

12-30 is my guess for the score line
12-20 loss will be an amazing effort
12-12 draw will be miracle
16-12 win will be like the 50 year Lake Eyre filling up to the max (ps get to Birdsville > Lake Eyre if you can right now as it is filling up massively)

1. Gutho
2. Sloan if Lawson is out
3. Tsougranis
4. Suli
5. Allen
6. LKT
7. KFlano
8. Guler
9. Cookie
10. Klemmer
11. Molo
12. Sua
13. Debelin
.......................
14. Liddle
15. LPT
16. Fafita / Sele
17. BMM

Everyone keeps mentioning Jett Liu! Isn’t even in the cup side and hasn’t been for few weeks. Quite sure he’s dropped back to flegg

Raiders vs Dragons at GIO Stadium: 5.30pm, Saturday July 5

Raiders: Hudson Young was rested from their trip to Newcastle and he will be absent on Origin duty this week, likely along with Corey Horsburgh.

Dragons: Hamish Stewart (concussion) and Toby Couchman (shoulder) are out, wingers Nathan Lawson (arm) and Christian Tuipulotu (hamstring) are at long odds while decisions on Luciano Leilua (thigh), Viliame Fifita (knee) and Damien Cook (ankle) will be made later in the week.

The only point of difference I have with your team is that if we are going to give the Raiders a shake, we need our best players on the field as long as possible- Cake, Sele and Loko- our impact off the bench- is underwhelming. I think the time has come to play both Cook and Lids from the start. Cook who is a good defender at No 13, JB starting prop, Lids at hooker.

We probably can't beat them with a power game but mobility?- you never know.

Normal transmission will resume.

Cookie and Sua with ankle niggles.

Sloan back on the wing.
