Brave effort by Salford last night. Also, I think St's were a bit overwhelmed by the 'occasion'... They got it together in the second half though. A few contentious decisions, bus St's were definitely stronger. Good to see Salford won't be easy-beats this season though...

Catalans game called off due to the pitch being frozen.

Got to feel for those poor Hull FC fans that travelled all the way to France only to have the game cancelled.

Wonder what they'll do to compensate them, it's not like they can take time off work again in the near future and go back over.

Any ideas what will come of this and will the game go ahead at another date or will they both get a point or something?

This seems to be the main weakness of the bottom half sides, it seems they can play 40 minutes of decent football, but not 80. Exactly like Widnes/Wakefield last week too...

Yeah, but I gotta say Salford looked real good yesterday in the first half, real good.

The SL is moving forward by leaps and bounds whether Gus Gould and the other morons out here like it or not.

Good win for Wigan, though Leeds were definitely preoccupied with next week.

They won't be compensated in any way Parra. They'll put it down to bad luck with the weather and wash their hands of it while the Hull fans seethe about the lack of any attempt to cover the pitch prior to the severe drop in temp. There's even word that the Catalans watered the pitch on the morning of the match. Really bright thing to do when sub zero temps are forecast and a chill wind blowing.

Were there any decent Elite matches that went ahead nearby to Perpignan? I know it's not the same, but it could have meant that they still caught a match of football...
