I'm happy for Stuart to take Robinson's place , there has been big wraps on this kid forever and what I saw in the QLD cup last year he will handle NRL.It's not like we are losing anymore experience as Robinson has very little as well.

Im looking forward to this game. Mondays take forever to get here.

Very happy to see Stuart, have one of us held Furner at gun point or something? These changes are so random, if it was round 20 then I could understand but round 2, talk about wow. Not complaining as I'm very happy, just need Waddell coming on around the 20 minute (accepted the fact Tongue will start at hooker) and Furner is starting to regain my confidence.

so why didn't stuart or mccrone start in the trials or round 1?

it makes no sense whatsoever to make these changes now. I think Furner is panicking already and is looking for a quick fix to something that wasn't a problem.
He has no idea what he's doing.

These changes are still cosmetic as far as I'm concerned.

We only ever win games when we fly out of the blocks. We're the German Army of Rugby League - we either kick your arse in the first 5 minutes, or we get owned.

We lose so much go forward with Tongue at dummy half, which we only re-gain when Waddell comes on by which point it's too late usually.

I don't care if it's Waddell or Buttriss but we need a real rake in there from the get go!

Congrats on the win guys! Awesome first half where you were just messing with the Broncos followed by a gutsy second half where your boys really put their body on the line. Glad the best team got up on the night and all the best for the future.

Cheers Pete, pretty much summed it up. Quite amazing how good we looked in the first half despite the completion rate but taking that into the 2nd half was always going to be a problem. Luckily our defence held strong and we managed to stop the Broncos momentum after Teo's try.

The team looked good with McCrone at halfback just the last play options were shocking. Campese should have tried a grubber instead of passing to McCrone on the last and no idea what happened with Thurling putting the bomb up.

The impressive thing to come from this is how we can defend. Our ball security was crap, that is been nice. But defence was brutal.

Well done Stuart , I thought he handle Issy quite well. tongue was inspirational and Bronson , Joel were beasts.

Im a happy man for a few days

Congrats to the Raiders.............had my attention all game. Won it against a 78% second half Bronco possession at one stage must make the victory that much sweeter.

Super dooper impressed by the debut of Stuart. He looks the goods. Bye bye Brett Kelly, nice knowing you.

Our threequarter line looks damn good for the future.

Full strength it's Vidot, Monaghan, Croker, Carney with Milne and Stuart absolutely breathing down their necks.

Funny to say it, Reece Robinson may never play first grade again for us. I think the above are the top 6 and Joel Thompson shuffling out wide is number 7 (he's a freak and definite starter, I'd rather him in the backrow).

Some thoughts:

Joel Thompson has surely sewn up a starting spot for the year whether it be in the 2nd row or centres. He is a beast and a true game breaker.

We missed Josh Miller out there. We needed his no nonsense style and pure aggression out there in the 2nd half. TLL would have helped a lot as well.

Waddell is a good defender and makes some good darts but his service is woeful... he makes tongue look like steve walters in regards to passing.

McCrone is a good support player and a very solid defender but a halfback he is not.

Logan is awesome as always.

Our goal line defense looks to have improved ten fold from last year, however this may not be the case away from home.

I thought the boys were going to give that game away.
Joel Thompson, what a player, personally id have him in the centres all year, but with monaghan and carney to come back,he'll shift to the back row and be very dangerous on the edges where he can dominant opposition defenders.
I thought fensom was our best forward, tackles all day, shows alot of grunt, always carries defenders.
Still suspect about Waddells passing game, but with fensom at lock,i would opt to still start tongue at hooker and waddell off the bench, only because fensom looks the goods.

Thompson has looked an absolute star in the centres, I'm not sure I'd want to move him. Carney and Monaghan will have a hell of alot to prove to get back into the team. Carney should play atleast a month for SL. Monas will probably be thrown back in as soon as he's fit.

IMO you should have lost. however the broncos inability to get it wide quickly enough cost them, given the amount of ball they had.

the amount of dangerous attacking raids foiled by the broncos over sructured play was laughable.

they wouLD go from left to right, but then thaiday would get it running straight and get caught thanks to the good raiders defence.

had they cut him out a few times im sure they would have scored a couple. most of the time there was one on ones and you guys had a rookie out there.

anyway well don one the win. certainly defended well in the second half there.

Gee no apologies to Tongue? I thought he was giving awesome service from hooker in the first half... Waddell was very cold (first pass for example, and the pass to Thaiday, only intercept he will EVER get) and hot (good defence and a few good runs, etc)... I think Tongue does alright starting at hooker... And while Waddell has moments of good defence and attack Tongue has on-going runs of good or at least good enough in both attack and defence...
