Now, if we get to say round six, seven, eight and we're still averaging 14 points per game then perhaps, and that would depend on other circumstances too, you can muster an argument that we can't attack.

It was a nice change to see the Dragons administration at least force the NRL to expose themselves as cheats, they want Canterbury up and they did everything they could to give them a good start. Vlandys is poison to the Dragons.

No Liddle means there is a chance Kyle moves to hooker during the game and LKT gets a run in the halves. That is where I see Saints best position for Kyle. After the Parra v Storm game, I will be happy if Saints keep the scores close as the Storm are on a roll can pile on the points and at the end of the season it all comes down to for and against when battling for fringe 8 spots.

Of all the losing sides in round 1, Saints were the best of the teams that lost. Many made it to golden point but Raiders clocked off with 10 to go. If I had to do a power rankings of the round Saints would be 8th and Dogs 9th as they had so much ball and refereeing decision go their way that it should never have ended in golden point, but the Saints defence was that good they held them out. Seeing the blow out scores this weekend, Saints defence looked even more impressive.

makasini is huge. Reed is tiny and needs more training to play week in week out NRL

i just looked it up
Makasini is 105kg and 192cm , a giant for an outside back. he was playing schoolboy rugby at 17 he was described as the next Jonah Lomu. I think there was a clear difference between him and Kade Reed and being able to handle themselves with the physicality of NRL, not to mention Reed would be targeted and have to make a lot more tackles than a center would.
