Hopefully the Sharks just played us into a bit of form.

One thing for sure I'm glad that Barba is no longer with us. Maybe he will improve as the season goes on but at the moment he is almost a hindrance to the Sharks attack.

Thought Kodi did very well for his rookie game. Can see him playing more minutes as the season goes on

Thought both teams were horrible. Tremendous amount of work to get this club into contention. We did defend well, that was the only shining light. The sharks were atrocious and a good football side would have put 30+ on them tonight.

Forwards were beaten again, we got the advantage during the interchanges but that was about it. Every week McGuire puts in, turning into a great consistent prop.

I know it's early but I'm tipping the broncos to miss the 8 this year, team looks completely in-cohesive, the attack is lead by 3 players who are nowhere near ready for that responsibility.

Watching them play you get a feel like there's an extreme lack of leadership in the team, alot of ad-lib football that isn't being directed by anyone in particular to ensure the team is working toward a goal be it pressure, repeat set, set plays or just working the ball up the field and finishing with a good kick.

McCullough, Reed & Maranta haven't done anything wrong but they embody what's fundamentally wrong with the team, toilers who are good for a 5/6 out of 10 performance week in week out. They all have no firepower, spark whatever you want to call it and are incapable of outplaying their opposite numbers and passively wait for them to outplay themselves. Boring too watch and the good teams in the comp will put them to the sword convincingly all year.

Also add that Kodi bought some good energy when he came on, was a refreshing change.

Was hard watching both teams in attack considering the game consisted of the broncos halves and the previous bronco's 5/8. Not surprised neither team could put on any points.

Boring game but it was a good hit out defence wise, still no real cohesion in the backs but there was improvement.
Reed needs to be gone as does thiaday. Wallace did well as did the new kid Offa.

Obviously the positive to come out of this is the defence. We and the refs gave the Sharkies plenty of opportunities but we repelled them well.

I agree with a previous post that we were beaten in the forwards again. Our only forward to make consistently good metres is McGuire. Blair is handy with his defence and work-rate but we already have a work-horse in McGuire. We really lack a big bopper to intimidate the opposition and bend the line back. Even when we had the Sharks on the back foot a run from Fifita would straight away put them on the front foot or earn them a penalty. We are desperate for a guy like Fifita

Milford showed some good signs but needs to cut the errors out of his game. This is nothing new he did that at Canberra too. If he wants to make the step up he has to make better decisions and fix his hands.

Wallace and Nikorima played themselves into another game I thought. Was also impressed with Joe but he didnt get much game time to really prove himself.

Apart from that play the ball I thought Kahu had an excellent game.

Special mention to Hodges too who tried hard and was dangerous at times.

Man it was satisfying to see Barba die with the ball when they needed him to make a play the most on those few occasions.

Yeh I think we really need to work on our attack and cut out those errors. Good game to win, but we should have put more points on them. A better team could have beaten us tonight

it was disappointing that they didn't chase more points
the cue was in the rack for the last 7-8 minutes

If Hunt goes down at all this year we're stuffed. He's the only bloke we got who seems capable of creating opportunities.

I wanted Milford back into fullback last week but looks like he's slotting in well and hope he keeps on the improve. Kahu had a great strong game there again and hope he can stay injury free. Hodges i think is making an ok captain but that doesn't stop him getting exploited by the opposition as in being a bit slow off the mark in defence sometimes. Our defence was great but the sharks really didn't have much going for them apart from their monster pack. Thought Reed played ok and Parker and McCullough and Co played their usual. Didn't really notice too much from the new guys but thought Oates had a good game. Agree better sides would have belted the sharks off the park but hopefully this win puts a bit of confidence back in the boys. Cowboys will be a great match up.

Some promising signs tonight. Defence in second half way first class. Attack is showing signs of improvement already - as you'd expect when we have virtually a new spine. Liked the energy contributed by Nikorima - something we missed in game one.

Give these guys another few weeks to gel in the spine combinations, then bring Boyd in and we have the makings of a final eight team in my opinion.

Joe O should be included next week because he showed some solid skills in his debut. Thaiday responded to his dropping well, particularly in defence where he didn't stop trying.

Agree that we're lacking one big bopper, but still hopefully that Gavet can bring that intimidation into the team.

Better signs this week although we were playing a weaker opposition, it's a work in progress and we know with Bennett coaching they will get better.
