Round 20 tips

After a great effort in last weeks tips, perfect round I thought I may as well strike while I still have some kind of form.

Melbourne v Parramatta
This is a real hard one to pick, Melbourne are due for a win after the last 2 poor efforts, and the Eels are due for another loss. I cant rreally see the Storm out defending the eels, if it was a matter of outscoring them, then I would say maybe. Parra by 12

Nth QLD v Dragons
Saints are starting to hit some good form, and the next 4 weeks will make or break their finals campaign. Defence is the cowboys biggest problem, followed by their inability to rack up points on a consistent basis. This game is a semi final come early for the dragons, as are all of their last 7 games.
Saints by 18

Penrith v Roosters
Another toughie, penrith are only a matter of minutes from a win and they do consistently cause upsets at this time of the year when they are out of the race. Not this week.
Roosters by 8

Sharks v Beagles
Cronulla are starting to find their usuall mid year form it may be a month or two late but what a good time to begin hitting your strapps. As for the beagles i cant understand how they were ever in the 8, they could terach Canberra some lessons about inconsistency.
Sharks by 11

Canberra v West tigers
Canberra are hot and freezing followed by average then passable. This week they will be too good. The tigers hit back well last week but not in good enough form to win in the natuions capital.
Raiders by 22

Warriors v Newcastle
The warriors need to win 6 out of 7 toguarantee they grab a semi final spot. This week will be an acid trest for them, they have given the knights a touch up at home before, it wont happen again. Joey will make sure of that. Will be a close one Joey to win it in the last 2 minutes.
Knights by 4

Broncos v Bulldogs
I hate them yet I find it almost impossible to tip against them at home. It will be a cracker of a game, as long as the bulldogs are true to form. They have gone off the boil for 2 or 3 weeksat varying times this year. If they do it agin the could gbe embarrassed.
Broncs by 10

Fingers crossed for another "perfect" round. Merry tipping everyone.

Melbourne V Parramatta
Well this is an interesting one with round 26 and the Warriors and Beagles creeping up on them can the Storm pull one out of the bag? My answer is no, they suffered a big blow last week at the hands of the Knights and their touch football style play won't be able to handle this well oiled Eels machine that keeps rolling on.
Parramatta by 14

North Queensland V St George-Illawara
The Dragons have hit their straps and just in time for a rollercoaster ride into the finals. They look too strong through the forwards and backs for the woeful Cowboys. Hopefully the Cowboys can hold up their end but everything they touch turns sour. The Dragons should run away with this in the end although we did see them get a hiding last year(?) up in townsville but history won't be repeating itself in this case.
St George-Illawara by 26

Penrith V Sydney
Well it would be so easy to give this one to the Roosters but a bit of grey matter needs to be used in this situation. The Roosters are really struggling and if they lose they may find themselves in 7th positiong which is a big drop after last seasons heights and early season predictions in 2001. Still the Roosters look to have the goods over a Penrith side that has been very rough around the edges all year.
Sydney by 12

Sharks V Northern Eagles
Well the Sharks are at their peak for the season and Peachey seems to be the key since his return from injury. The Eagles have shown some better form of late but still lack that killer punch and their second half statistics show that. They can match the Sharks but i see them falling away in that final 20 where they seem lost.
Sharks by 8

Canberra V Wests Tigers - Bore of the round
Well the Raiders would be about as lost for clues about their form as the rest of us. Its a week by week process for the Raiders and they are really struggling. The Tigers secured a much needed win last week against the Cowboys but will do it tough up at Bruce. Raiders to run away with it.
Canberra by 16

New Zealand V Newcastle - Upset of the round
Well after last weeks bump in the road the Warriors should be back on track this week with players hopefully back in action. I wouldn't read anything into their performance on the Gold Coast. At home they are dangerous and will push this Newcastle side to its limit. The Knights have Joey back and have a new found confidence and my head tells me Knights but my heart tells me Warriors.
Warriors by 6

Broncos V Bulldogs - Match of the round
Well both teams have struck form and it should be a fantastic match. The Dogs still have chinks in their armour and now that brisbane have a well balanced attack look for plenty of pressure to be put on the Bulldogs attack. We will be strong at ANZ and the Eels will be the only team to boast winning there for a long time to come.

Knights v Warriors should be a real crunch game for both sides. The Warriors have to win to keep their slim hopes alive and the Knights need to keep winning this type of game to keep their credibility as genuine contenders. The knights have a bit of a backline shortage happening at the moment with Hughes and Tahu unable to play and Gidley, MacDougall and Ryder all playing with injuries because of a shortage of experienced replacements. How odd it is to have our two biggest injury crocks, Albert and O'Davis, as our only two fit players in the backline.
I think the Knights will get up, but they will do it the hard way, through the forwards.

Brisbane v Canterbury will be another interesting game. Canterbury have been the form team of the comp since they have had Trindall and Anasta in the halves. If they win this game I think they must firm to favourites for the title - if they can keep Trindall and Anasta together. Brisbane need to win to retain credibility as well. It will be interesting to see how Walters goes in his first big test since coming back. Lockyer will need to have a big game.
I think Canterbury will get up in a close game.

Roosters 10 Penrith 2
Sharks 10 Beagles 2
Raiders 11 Tigers 1
