I reckon I could give Maloney at least some credit for the pass. How many times have you seen teams on the 5th tackle last play trying to win the game, kick it to the sky and hope for the best lol. It frustrates me everytime I see that happen, as you dictate what will happen when the ball is in hand, not in air with a 50/50 chance of getting it back. I so thought Maloney was gonna kick the ball there, but thankfully his knee or something said no and he gave it to the one and only Big Viliame Kikau.

People not capable of giving credit where it is due. They are one-eyed, one dimensional supporters, all of them, and I am proud to disagree with them. If it were up to you lot, we would be chocolate for eternity. Maybe someone else would have thrown the ball, but he did it, no-one else, and with an injured knee too. He had a poor game, but he threw the ball that put Kikau in a gap and led to victory, and it was pinpoint. That is what he does.

This at least gives context to the very same people criticising Hook, equally unfairly.

What a complete and utter drama queen. I praised Kikau for making that try, and you're crying because we didn't give a bog standard pass enough recognition. Grow up.

It isn’t even so much the pass, it is making the right decision at the right time. He didn’t bomb. He didn’t try to run it himself or switch it back the other way, he made the right decision in a pressure situation.

He literally didn't have time to do anything else because he was about to be tackled.

I'm happy giving Maloney credit for the pass. "Great" just feels like putting a bit too much on it. That word feels best reserved for Waqa, Kikau and earlier Whares efforts.

Could be a costly win for the Panthers. James Maloney has a grade 2 medial ligament tear. Could be out for 3 weeks or more.

He really is a hard b#stard isn't he? 82kgs wringing wet, on one leg for the second half, gets run at and smashed constantly, still runs to the line and takes his medicine. He is a good old fashioned footballer. I wish he was a better defender, but the man has heart.

Blessing in disguise. He is an total passenger at the moment. 3 weeks off then back to be MOM week 1 of the finals.

May will be great in the 6. Egan on the bench will put Katoa on his toes, his form has been awful the past fortnight.

Yep, I think it was the game against the dogs where Whare put a big hit on one of them, Klemmer came in to 'intervene' - it was Jimmy that gave him a shove and got in his face! He's got guts.

Really hope Jimmy isn’t out more than 3 weeks though. We should buy ourselves a second chance or a reasonably winnable first week for him to find his feet, but I wouldn’t want him coming into the fire against the Sharks or Rabbits in week 2.

Anyway my other great hope is that Cleary grasps this moment and it’s his team by the time Jimmy comes back.
