We're off to Bundaberg for the first leg of the run home.

The Dolphins will welcome back Jeremy Marshall-King who'll be looking for a big game against his former club. The Hammer returns to fullback after a stint in the centres with Kodi Nikorima going to six. Anthony Milford has retained his spot in the 17 over Katoa who has been named as a reserve.

Ray Stone is out with a broken hand, so Josh Kerr returns to the bench with Kenny Bromwich pushing into the starting line-up. Jarrod Wallace was also successful in his judiciary hearing and was able to escape another stint on the sidelines.

What do we make of the Katoa omission? I would have thought Hammer-Katoa-SOS-JMK with Kodi off the bench would have been the play. Keep in mind, Redcliffe have a bye in the QCup so unless Katoa goes to Toowoomba with the Capras, he won't receive any game time this weekend.

Too many cooks in the kitchen if SoS , Milford, Kodi, and Katoa are on at the same time, add in JMK, this could be milfords last game, to keep Katoa out of this side might be a good thing, kikau is back, he is going to storm on the edge, and other than hammer and te whare, the rest are experienced 1st graders,
Id expect kodi will slot into hooker for a stint, while milford comes on, unless they use wallace again, but i doubt it

Nothing.

I have worked in sports with young kids, and at NRL lvl 19 is young. They just need time out.

I think a great example to look at is a youngster by the name of Harvey Elliott who plays for Liverpool in the EPL. These types of players aren't full season prospects and need a break every now and again as part of their development and learning. Harvey played well early doors and faded as the season went on. Katoa was great early doors and is starting to slip slightly. It is was young sports people do. The ones that last the whole season have extreme experience surrounding them, and take the brunt for them as they so through the season. Unfortunately, for Katoa we are a new club, and the mix isnt right there at the moment.

So, I would say a break right now is perfect timing for him coming off the bye, getting the largest break as possible without hampering total game time/development in a large way.

He will get more from the break, rather then having no break and struggling week in week out. Whilst these kids look fit and strong, their bodies are not mature and need breaks, even in Soccer/football, which is hard on the body.
