anyone expecting wholesale changes given we only played Monday night is kidding themselves - for that matter the team named Tuesday never matches the one on game day. I do expect O'Hanlon, Brien and Sio to be considered as well as Horo or Smith moving back in to the backrow.

Yep!!! I'd have Reni partnering Hindmasrh in the 2nd row.

Bench

Allgood
POH
Poore
Horo

I've given Lassalo benefit of the doubt for a while but he needs to do something with his game in reserve grade. Admittedly we don't have a genuine halfback that compliments his good hole running ability.

Please... Jarryd could put the ball on a string when he's on song.
I can't count the amount of times he's put someone through a hole.
He's probably one of the best at it.

What are you basing Lasalo's good hole running ability on?
2 Line Breaks in a season of football?

Why would you want wholesale changes after a game like that? I'd want to know as a fan/player/coach who in the team realises just how f**king atrocious they were on Monday, and then what they are going to do about it this week. You want to know which players are going to put in even when the team is going rubbish, which players can lift their game and generally which players you want in the team.

Granted they've had all season to do so, but even the game in Melbourne wasn't as bad as Monday, and this has reached a massive new low and I want to know which players can pull themselves back up.

Given the absolute king rumour doing the rounds, anyone off contract next year is going to want to start impressing if they want to be paid

Robson coming straight back in to the team for the game against the Dogs after signing with the Sharks was the last straw for me. Kearney needs to weild the axe, not dust the team with a feather.

I think we all just need to be realistic about our performances this year. It wasn't looking good even before the departures of Grothe and Tahu and the long term injuries we've suffered.

I think just finish the season --- don't fret about the spoon. Plan for next season and take steps to ensure we are not in this position again.

But, don't sack the coach, the CEO, or go for wholesale team changes so late in the season. There is no point turning a calamity into a catastrophe by embracing instability.

To be frank, I'd even consider resting Jarryd for the remainder of the season. Why risk a long term injury to him when we can't make the finals this year.

its easy to say theres nothing left to play for so lets blood some juniors but is it good for them to make their first grade debut with a team low on morale who got flogged the week before and cant make the finals?

I'm not suggesting that we blood any more juniors. Just play the season out and plan for a long off season. Maybe save Hayne for 2012.

That said Ben Smith debuted in 2004 when the Eels were going badly. Mateo also debuted that year.

It's about creating a culture. Holding players accountable for their actions. A message needs to be sent that if you perform badly, you will lose your spot in first grade. How can you justify playing Lasalo in first grade and leaving young kids like O'Hanlon and Brien on the bench or in reggies? It sets a pretty bad precedent.

I'm not sold on the criticism of Lasalo. I think a lot of people forget that this is his first full season of first grade. The wear and tear of playing first grade week in and out can have a significant impact on players. He has been a bit inconsistent but he has also done some very good things on field.

no mate - he's had all year and a few games last year...he's a bit-part bench player at best, he's been very poor throughout the year - on average
