ROUND 23 VS WARRIORS

So for arguments sake, all these young guys coming in together, learning together, failing together, hardening up together...blokes like Cam, Goz, Gray, Crichton, Hunt, Musgrove...

Might take em a couple of seasons to get it all together.

A bit like McCullough, Glenn, Reed, Gillett, Hunt....?

Hell, a bit like Coote, McCarthy, Sattler, O'Neill, Simms...?

Gray was possibly our best player in the first 8 weeks or so. He was definitely the player playing to the best of his ability early on. Gray had maybe 1 or 2 bad games after returning from injury. Since then he has been solid in an under performing team. In the last 2 weeks he has come good in an improved team. I think he and Hunt have locked up centre for next tear

Bullshit! Young players have to be superstars from their debut games otherwise they are Duds. Don't you know anything

You're right, Gray and Hunt look to have the centre positions to themselves from now on. Where does that leave Goodwin?

I think their might of been hints when we started playing him at second row. But with rochow rumoured to be on the way, chricton and gozzy coming on, and Sutton and turner with the experience he might be limited. He must be filthy with the club for not letting him go to the gold coast when they offered him a bigger contract expecially if he is at risk of returning to be a depth player

I hate that the NRL has allowed the contract process to become a complete farce. You and the club sign a contract, both should be made to enforce it. In the NBA, the two time MVP reining is getting paid less than a lot of players who come off the bench because that is the contract he negotiated. Steph Curry is getting paid nearly 3 times less than Lebron James who he beat out for the MVP award. The NRL system is broken. The club and player should be made to honour their contracts no matter what. None of this wanting out for more money or telling players they are "free to look for opportunities elsewhere". Goodwin signed the contract, its his fault if he doesn't like it. Sometimes it will work in the club's favour, sometimes the player's.

I hope that last word in your post is not a Freudian slip for how we might feel during next season!!!

Lets just wait and see how Gray goes. He has definitely played some good games this year, but I wouldn't say he has quite cemented his spot yet. If Joe goes after this season, then next year it might be Gray back on the wing and Goodwin in the centres.

Yeah contracts don't work like that in any part of life.
A contract is a set of terms nothing more nothing less.
However I do think it's farcical players sign contracts as far in advance as they do.
In football there's two windows per year where you can sign and then you move no playing for one team waiting to move to the next.
The only exception is if your in the last 6 months of your contract and that's only to ensure players as employees have a continuity of work.

Watch Moneyball and tell me it's a better system. That combined with the bullshit college system. It's just lucky that their sports have huge incomes otherwise i don't think it would work. Even with high wages it's still common for player strikes to occur in the big 4 leagues. Soccer has a better system but nrl has a different challenge in that we have competition for our players, so if we only done negotiations during trade windows it would give our competitors an advantage in negotiations

Same can be said about Inglis this season. Sutton too. Stick to your agenda though. #hypocrite20
From what I saw at games Gray imo had the worst body language. He gave up at times.

We need him to be consistent.

I disagree re the same can be said for Sutto.

Correctamundo.

Madge rates Bryson too as we know.

Yeah I'd rather Brown on the interchange.
So would I.

But I think something is going on in the background.

I'm starting to think Brown may not be with us next season. He'd be a bit of a loss too. He is good off the bench.

No they don't.

They can have off games. But it's about finding some consistency and having the right attitude.

It's about improving too which is something Cam hasn't done.
