So, we reach the last qualifying game, a game where we should be targeting 2nd spot, but unfortunately, we are now in a dog fight for finishing in 8th spot.

The interesting games are:
Warriors (at home) V Raiders - on Friday evening (Warriors sit 16 points on f/a behind us)
Storm V Panthers - on Friday Night (Penrith sit 13 points on f/a in front of us) Storm may rest some players given they are 2 points clear and have a 32 point f/a on 2nd placed team.
Bulldogs V Sharks - Can Bulldogs repeat today?
Broncos V Manly - Broncos sit 13 points behind us on f/a.

We will lose Nighty and Aitken (though not a bad thing) and still doubts over Widdop's fitness.

The other interesting point is that ISP play their first finals game. So, obviously 1st grade has priority on selections.

My team would be:
1. Dufty (Herbert should get a go but that would leave ISP short and Dufty hasn't qualified to play finals for ISP)
2. Mann - (only if Widdop plays if not then Periera)
3. Lomax -
4. Lafai -
5. Nene -
6. Widdop - (Mann if not fit)
7. Hunt -
8. Graham
9. McInnes
10. LAM
11. Friz
12. Sims
13. JDB

14. Latimore
15. Leilua
16. Host
17. Field

I’m sorry stuff ISP.

Herbert to fullback.
Lomax to centre.
Mann to wing.
Field to 5/8, a worry.
Robson on the bench.
Kerr on the bench.
McGregor out the door.

We have absolutely nothing to lose now.

Most likely we will finish 8th.

Highly likely to exit in first finals appearance.

Time to give the kids a go.

They will play with more intensity than our lot did today. Hell, they may even inspire the rest of the side to have a go.

Top 4 is gone. You might as well have a fit and fresh team for the semi.
Rest the forwards with the exception of the plodder Latimore and Leeson.
Tell Hunt to f**k off overseas for a week to get his shit together.
Only a McIdiot would risk Widdop next week.
Give Sele, Host, and Lawrie full games next week.
Give McInness a rest.
Lomax gets start next week with Field.
Who gives a f**k about the ISP semi

Sorry, you named Nene and Lafai and I couldn't stop laughing.

Humans deal with adversity by looking forward and hoping but where is the investigation into what happened today?? There must be immediate fallout and scalps starting with coach.

38-0 people!! to a team with nothing much to play for in our home ground, against the team Lance played for.

Panthers sacked their coach, got flogged and still rose above us on the ladder.

Screw Round 25. The culprit must go THIS WEEK.

Swap the ISP with the FG team bar a few players and see how we go
But seriously I don’t want to do that as it’s ISP semi on that day and they are playing great
Smells very like the JD year

Did the Dragons finish the 2008 season beating Newcastle, then got smashed by Manly at Brookvale (semi)eliminated, then Bennett was announced as head coach?
No- we got beaten 10-0 by the roosters in the last round, then got smashed by manly in the semi at Brookvale (38-6) and were eliminated.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_St._George_Illawarra_Dragons_season

Manly went on to beat storm 40-0 in the GF, thus erasing our 38-0 loss to the roosters in 1975 as the worst GF loss.

Edit- I'm pretty sure Bennett was announced coach for the following season while we were still alive in the 2008 season. Brownie wasn't sacked- he coached until season's end.

Herbert to fullback.
This guy is a gun with size and yes he can catch a high ball with confidence.
He can do cross field kicks under pressure too.

Did you all realise the best catcher of high balls was a forward. Yep it was Luc.

Lomax and Herbert particulary must be in our first team from here on.

Herbert should not be given a first grade jumper if he is leaving.Promote Lomax and Field .

Doesn't really matter, our season has been over long ago. Give the ISP players a run. Nice thought but won't happen
