Round 26 vs Dogs

I just don't get how we consistently go into a shell despite how desparate we need to be.

Sometimes you just aren't good enough. There are fewer and fewer easy wins in the NRL.

Dragons are respectable in defence under Mary, always have been. BUT deplorable in attack unless we can get our forwards creating some second phase play. Not happening again today. Always around the 25 minute mark the forwards go to sleep and the backs have to do the majority of hit ups. Never looks good.

I'm a big fan of Mann but he's having a shocker, Widdop marginally better by a crab, Nene finally gets a good kick and ........

Nighty is toooooo slow, couple of chances off kicks into space, just too slow, yes he can finish close in but...
Dufty needs to take a run from the back split em open.

Mann looks like he didn't train with the team.

Our much vaunted forward pack is being easily controlled just like the Dogs did last time as did Parra twice
If the forwards don't crack the centre open we will lose, it is that simple.
You can criticise the backs as much as you like for going sideways but they have no space to run into as our forwards aren't winning the metres in the middle.

Which is why you change things around re tactics, bench etc. Today's 1st half is a mirror of so many of our recent games yet we do the same thing-run sift & sideways.

a few sides went easy this weekend trying to preserve themselves for finals eels roosters sharks and now us difference is we're not there yet lol

No attacking speed.
Forwards not winning the ruck.
Passes so slow and off.
McInnes has not run.
Mann is out of sorts.
Dugan out of position.
Nightingale too slow in defence.

Widdop's had plenty of space. He needs to play more direct. He cannot blame the forwards for his 3 terrible kicks there was absolutely no pressure on him on any of them. The bloke needs to attack the line, straighten up the play and take control. That's his job. One out passes from dummy half and sideways crabbing won't cut it. The attitude has been abysmal and we're luck to be in it. A big change of attitude required.
