I didn't think Wallace's kicks against Manly were too bad. He managed to find the grass quite a few times between fullback and winger. It's just far too often that he gets the ball 15m out and has absolutely no idea what to do with it.

Griffin should have some explaining to do if he names Wallace at 7 tomorrow given the form he's in, and the obvious alternative in a Hunt/Norman combo.

It's the best long kicking game I've ever seen Wallace have. Overall, it was one of his good games. That's the problem though, his good games are still not good enough.

I don't think anyone is under the illusion that we are going to go far if we make the finals, but where would you rather finish? Inside the 8 or out? Would you rather see your team play just one or two more games or not?

Personally, the more Brisbane games I get to see the better. If that means going out in straight sets in the finals, so be it.

Yes I would like to see one more Broncos game too, of course.

But there is something a little more subtle going on. If we manage to limp into the finals, then upon reflection it might be seen as a successful season overall, managing to make the finals without Lockyer. Then it might be possible to gloss over the, imo, major problems that we do have. This wouldn't happen if we missed the finals.

I don't think the Broncos really needed the kicks to find grass as much as they needed them to find the sideline. The Sea Eagle players were positioned for that, hence why it was seemingly so easy.

Wallace still missed two important tackles that lead to tries and offered bugger all.

jarro - When have our starting halves ever been dropped for poor performances?

Both Jennings and McKendry are free to play.

On Friday night my faith was at an all time low but as usual it has returned. I agree that we need to lose Wallace however if he runs on and Hoffman is at the back i feel he can be more dangerous in attack. He loves to attack up the middle and Norman was not running in support like Hoffman does. On paper we will have a very good side and a big win will give us some momentum. Wallace is a great front on defender but the 2 misses that led to tries were terrible. Anyway give him one more chance i hope he has a blinder and we grab 7th with a Raiders loss.

I'd rather beat a full strength side. Lets be honest here, if we have a hope in hell against the Cowboys we NEED to beat a full strength Penrith side.

With Bellamy likely to rest players against the Tigers, Brisbane really need to make a statement here and keep the final eight outcome in their own hands. A good old fashioned thumping is in order. Hopefully the scoreboard is tipping the right way at full time.

Ah one of those tries Manly had a big roll on with us back pedaling (as usual) and where Norman also missed the tackle. Wallace also saved at least one try on the night but of course everyone only has eagle eyes for his F***UPS! I'm no great Wallace supporter but talk about kicking a guy when he's down even when he has an ok game. Plenty of other worse performers on the night.

Against the Panthers i don't care how we get the win as long as we do. We need a major lift in confidence!

Wallace isn't there for his defence he is there to lead our attack especially near the try line. This in my opinion is where he seems to have no options at the moment.

I'm with ya.

With that said, Wallace/Hunt/Norman, it barely makes a difference this late in the season.

Let's look on the brightside, this is the strongest side we've named since the Rabbitohs game.

Who knows? Maybe he'll turn it all around this week and stop telegraphing his set plays to the opposition 20 minutes prior. Maybe he'll go back to making line-breaks up the middle but actually finding the support runner this time. Maybe he'll charge out of the line inside his own 20m and actually stick the tackle this time.

Could happen.

Oh well at least we have a full strength team for once and every is back to the positions we started with at the start of the year.

I think all we need is 1 strong win and with the team on paper we could do well in the finals we really need to put a score on panthers.

Apart from one very important omission that has been somewhat overlooked IMO - JYY. Brisbane have definitely missed his finishing skills and talent on the wing. The sad thing is that while he'll probably get back on the field as a competent winger, we may never see his flair under the high ball again.
