Just when the season appeared done and dusted, the Dolphins enjoyed one of their best days in club history when they smashed the Broncos 40-6 and put themselves back in the 8. It's been an extradinary result for a club that was virtually thrown together at the last minute and while Wayne Bennett is getting ready to ride off in the sunset, the Dolphins have the opportunity to extend his stay just a while longer.

For the Dolphins, captain Jesse Bromwich will return in what could be his final game in the NRL. Jesse has enjoyed a fantastic career, playing in 338 premiership games, 34 times games for New Zealand and two successful premiership campaigns for Melbourne. If Sunday happens to be his last game, it wouldn't change the things he's achieved and the standards he helped establish at the club.

Sadly the Dolphins will not be playing finals football, as that would have been a huge boost for the club in only their 2nd season in the NRL, and I say that as a Panthers fan.
