Look how decent Goodwin/reddy go for souths with their forwards, put them in our side and they would struggle. As Pou said it's the forwards are the key

Pretty sure Reddy was single handedly keeping the Chooks in the game. He was shocking!! I think his forwards might have preferred not to have a winger??

Sure, the outside backs need the forwards, but they can still ruin all the good work that has been done up the guts. Average backs can look good behind a good pack, but crap backs might only get up to poor....

Having said all that, our outsude backs will be good enough to win this one if our forwards win up front.

Yeah. Obviously the outside backs aren't irrelevant - there's still a massive difference between good ones and shit ones. But our view of which ones are good and which ones are shit is heavily clouded by the forwards and playmakers they're stuck with.

You might as well talk to the wall, Pou.

Don't be stupid, he missed a bomb, so what? Reynalds kicked it out on the full, does that mean he was horrible? Reddy scored a try in which he could have easily been pummeled into touch beforehand, that makes up for it imo. Not to mention after the miss he out-jumped Tupou who had a really good bomb placed towards his corner. One swallow does not a summer make.

Reddy Fact #4: Reddy is off to a flying start in 2015. Including the World Club Challenge, Reddy has scored at least one try in all three games and scored twice against St Helen's.

Reddy was named 29th man for last years grand final for a reason and the reason is because he is SHIT. Shouldn't you be on the Souths forum defending your husband against souths supporters who also don't rate him?

Please read my updated and edited post and then reply again accordingly. Someone that is shit doesn't score tries every game and have better defence than anyone in our backline. Reddy was good for us when he was here and you must not be a real fan if you can turn your back on that so easily. Shit players aren't on the run on team for the premiers. If you prefer what we have this week you are delusional.

Reddy Fact #5: Reddy has an excellent strikerate. Round 2 in 2015 marked ten appearances for the Rabbitohs for Joel Reddy and 11 if you count the World Club Challenge. In those 11 games he has scored 11 tries. I cannot find another player with at least ten games played that has a one try a game average for the club they currently play for. For example, a prolific try scorer like Rhys Wesser played 41 games for the Rabbitohs and only scored 16 tries.

To be honest, I think our views might be even more clouded by our preconceived notions of who is good and who isn't!! Or who our favourite junior is, or who got picked over them, and therefore deserves our rage.

I take it all back.

Chooks win by 60 if Reddy didn't play that game.

Anyone else see the similarities between Reece Robinson and Luke Burt. A fast goalkicking winger who can't defend and wont contest a bomb

Definitely see it hybrid, you could also add 'who doesn't help rucking it out from his own end'.

Those guys are great frontrunners, they look great when you're winning well, and they tend to do amazing things in those circumstances. But when the chips are down, they aren't the type to step up and try to change things.

Yeah, 'downhill skiers' or 'win-more players' also works. I realise that Robinson is plugging a hole in the roster but I am definitely not a fan of him. Guys like Lavaka, Folau and Goodall are far from perfect themselves but I would rather one of them had taken his spot on the roster. It brings a different set of issues to the team but with arguably a lot more upside than a guy who doesn't contest bombs or ruck the ball out effectively.

Luke Burt is a legend of Parramatta, comparing him to Robinson who has played two games for us is disgusting. I don't agree with that summary of his ability either, he was less effective towards the end of his career because of the modern trend for giant wingers.
