KEY POINTS:
  • Marika Koroibete has been ruled out with a foot injury
  • Matt Utai will return from a neck injury to replace Koroibete

I kind of expected Nofoaluma to replace Koroibete. Quite disappointed that hasn't happened.

Not too sure how to gauge this. Tigers have performed reasonably against crap opposition for the last two games and Manly struggled against Titans.

It would have been great to see David Nofoaluma get a run in the NRL, whether he is ready is another story. A great runner of the ball and a player of the future for sure.

Utai...

We all know how this is going to end with Manly getting 2 tries from bombs....

Couldnt they give some thought to blooding Tedesco at wing?

I like Utai and think he is valuable but not on the wing.
He could be busting them up on the final 20 of each half coming off the bench.
DCE will have a field day chipping that wing.

How many tries do we need to have scored against us before the coaching staff realise that Utai on the wing is a liability ??? FFS. I like Utai and the effort he puts in but I think he has to be used in a different way or not at all. I agree with some of the opinions that he could be beneficial off the bench as a forward but who would you leave out ??? I'm not sure I'd replace any of our current forwards with Utai.

Can we put this idea of Utai in the forwards to bed please, HE CANT TACKLE! He also cant jump so leave him out of the team.

I actually like the idea of having Utai in the team for a number of reasons:

1. We need that hard hitting speed and power that Koro provided. It takes usually take 3 players to tackle Utai and he can be very quick off the mark.
2. One of the main things I despised about Sheens was that he was constantly shuffling the team around. Potter picked Utai as a starting winger. He is now fit. Potter will play him. He is not as good as Koro or Reddy (I like Reddy atm, plays with good heart) but Potter obviously doesn't want to start bleeding new players in Round 4.
3. Its pretty funny....don't pretend its not.

What pisses me off about what I'm seeing written here is the shit dishing towards Moltzen. He has performed well in the last two games and there is no reason to ditch him yet. Tedesco will be ready when Potter decides he is ready. Moltzen is starting to find his groove again, give the man a f**king chance......needs to start doing kick returns though (I would love nothing more than to watch Moltzen make a dummy to his winger then make a break for it. Would almost make up for his two years of bitching it).

The winger would probably have a heart attack. :D
Seriously, he has the speed to make some breaks if he does have a go at the kick returns. Surely he can see what Barba does?

So here we go again.... we have a winger who is a fullback and a fullback who is a gimp and a real winger in Nou going no where. Im happy for Ted to get start but this way is just BS .

Here's hoping Tedesco shows enough tonight to be named in the no 1 jersey next week.

Already after one half of footy this kid looks the goods. Bad luck about the bomb but initially he lost sight of the ball. He should be the long term FB.
