ok here we go, lets just bite down hard and try to make something of this game. Well firstly what Dragons side is going to turn up, you would think after last year we wouldnt want to think we are just going to roll through these guys. Our forwards do worry me, the inclusion of Lawrie worries me, being a long time supporter of the Dragons worries me :) How many lessons have we learnt from the last 2 weeks. I dont want these guys to ambush us or Lomax to have a blinder, that would hurt after beating melbourne. We really need to start being consistent, we need to start fast and dont let up. I feel we may have turned the corner slightly, but beating the storm will mean nothing if we lose this one. Lets go boys , lets start to put a few pieces together, dont let the Dragons be Parras first win. Go the Dragons , lets really stick it to them !!!

This is a massive opportunity for us. But a massive danger game all the same.

Looking forward to seeing Gutho bring his A-game. But also worried about him potentially taking things too far and giving away a silly penalty and/or getting himself binned.

All of our forwards are due a dominant performance (similar to what we saw in the pre-season). But I'm also very worried about our discipline, especially with the officials in crackdown mode for high shots (we have had a knack of giving away too many unnecessary penalties for this in recent times).

A decent win potentially gives us the opportunity to finish the round inside the eight, or close to it depending on how other results pan out. I'm also worried because we've been in this scenario many times before - a good win against established opposition one week, and then heads absolutely not in it the next.

Under the leadership of Price/Mary/Hook + Ben Hunt as captain, we had a knack of resting on our laurels. The point of Flanno coming on board, stripping back the roster & bringing in the likes of Gutho, Val Holmes, Cookie, now Klemmer as well... is to try and stop the rot of resting on laurels and certain inconsistencies in our culture and style of play - have we really turned the corner.

Life of a Dragons supporter! Enjoy the game tomorrow, folks !!

I think it’s a farce the NRL deem to have a ‘head high’ round(s), they do it each year, it’s a gimmick and another excuse to give the officials power to change a game. Either they are head highs every week or they’re not. Saying this, we will get one or more players sin binned during this game, hope they’ve prepared.

This game will be a test for us...
Gutho, who lost blood for the Eels...
Us we went to Parramatta last year cocky, and got our arses' hand to us.
and Parra with several St. George assets within will come out swinging with a point to prove on several fronts.
This game will not be a cake-walk in any way.
A one point win for St. George Illawarra will be a satisfactory result indeed
Agree this is a danger game

Big game for Blake Lawrie. Read he made 50 tackles in reserves. Coming into a winning team whose forward pack now includes Klemmer and several improving youngsters. His chance to show what he's got and cement a spot in an improving team. It's up to him. Career defining.
This has been said before so many of his recent games. We know what we're going to get from him. It's going to be nothing short of terrible. Just have to hope the damage done whilst he's out there isn't bad enough to lose us the game

Maybe he'll see his mate Lomax playin for The Eels and think, 'it's time I got on with my career and achieved something'. It's up to him.

Game day ! Pumped for this one after last week, hopefully we can back it up. Might be some fireworks on the edges we will see how liked Lomax really was and I'm sure Gutho will want to make a statement. We should win this in my opinion Dragons by 20 GO THE SAINTS!

As long one of Lomaxes “no look passes” DOeS NOT wins the game for the Eels 😂

I think despite Parra players being very used to Gutho week in week out in practice etc I suspect we may see mixing it up a little today…….

we have eased in Ilias and Kyle with a little less the last pass play ie they have created the space for Gutho to move into and execute the first few weeks

now it is time to slightly even out out “last pass” via all 3 and even Cooky when he goes to lock for parts of the game

but for me Canberra and the Sharks showed their dominance via their two edge second rowers

that was epic the battle between Young and Nikora etc just taking the game on hard !!!

I really hope to see Luc and Sua truly will the game onto their terms today

otherwise we may start to see Luc not getting as many minutes if Egan has another dominant game

So far I think we have come out in front on this swap.
Attitude and mind set is paramount today
The boys were up for last week against the Storm and came away winners
Today , the Eels are always tough to beat no matter where both are on the Table
Our form so far this Season is superior to theirs , but if we turn up and go thru the motions we will get our tails smacked
Loved what Egan brought on debut last week
Can he produce again in consecutive weeks ?
Lawrie gets one Final opportunity to prove himself at this Level b4 we start getting some troops back in coming weeks
If our attitude in Defence is spot on today we can apply plenty of pressure and force errors esp in their on half
Parra will fight hard till at least mid 2nd half , before we finish too strong if we can control possession and get an even " :rub of the green "
Dragons by 10

After watching a couple of games this round I hope Flanno is making sure he chats to our forwards - especially JDB - and making sure we stay away from the head in tackles.
I'm all for player protection but some of the sin bins so far have been disgraceful.
Very nervous about this game. On paper we should win by 30. And no point beating Melbourne if we can't beat Parra.
I hope they turn up.

I think Flanno will have the boys fired up to get the win for Gutho, he will want to show Parra exactly what they are missing he gave everything for the club. If the boys follow his lead then we should win this well

Given that we have two top props down in our 17, I'd like to see Leilua move to prop. He is a big body player with some good bursts of speed. He is very strong and capable of bending the line.

So, now that we have Egan coming through so nicely, a backrow of Egan, Su'A, and De Belin would still be very competitive. Adding Leilua to the prop rotation gives us much more than having Lawrie in that role.

Agree Possm- Leilua should be used like Spencer Leniu- short sharp bursts charging off the back fence- our other middles-like T Couchman- are hard workers but not impactive. Luch is not mobile enough to be a big minute backrower- particularly with his defence.
