Boring footy,example.
How many times do we need to see Lawrie get the ball close to the opponents line ffs.
Its a waste he is not going to do anything.
This shits me more than anything. Seems like forever now that whenever we get into the opposition red zone, Blake fxcking Lawrie thinks he has to have 1 or 2 charges (wasted chances). Atkinson, LKT, Cookie and Liddle need to tell him to FAAARK off.

I was watching the Penrith v Storm game yesterday and far out, Penrith are a machine. I'm really looking forward to playing them! We need to ensure we practice our kick-off routines for a few days before that game. What really struck me was (a) how far into the defensive line the Penrith ball carrier goes before passing, all of them and (b) how many Penrith players are continually pushing up around the ball carrier. I understand that Edwards is elite in this regard. But guys, this is coaching and effort. You don't have to possess Andrew Johns ability to push deep into the line. You don't need to be Cameron Munster to support the ball carrier. This is about effort and coaching. I know LKT has defensive issues but let's keep an eye on him today to watch (a) how far he goes into the Cowboys defensive line and (b) who is pushing up alongside him. I'm not beating up on Kyle but so much of his play/passing occurs 5 meters from the defensive line. The other issue is how hard so many Penrith players chase the last tackle kick. They hound after it. This is one area Kyle excels in. Let's watch today how many Atkinson bombs are uncontested and the ball is brought back to the 20m line for the first play. That's effort and coaching.

I haven't watched a Dragons game this year yet - in order to reduce my stress levels and maintain some semblance of sanity my resolution was to record every game and if we won I'd watch it. So no games so far - and I can only comment on what I watched last year.

Based on our structures and game style last year, we've got 2 issues:

1. We aren't deep enough in attack
2. Our plays and play the balls are too slow to be effective.

Last year, the opposition were up in our face all the time - didn't matter who the team was, they always seemed to be smothering us. Until we are more fluid in attack, I think we'll always struggle. And I think that comes down to a couple of things. Better management of the ruck (a better understanding of tackled players making more effort to play the ball quicker) and better organisation and speed from our halves. Until those couple of things are fixed I don't think we'll be able to compete. I mean, there are other issues, but I think this at least lines up with your comments around the Penrith game last night.

PS - so far my resolution is working. Weekends aren't ruined and I'm much happier!

The more even field position and metres carried per set

the up faster in defence

the play of the ball

These areas are much better than last year

the creativity

the mistakes (many unforced)

the lack of connection in attack

hmmmmm

these areas have not been good at all

we are willing but not able so far

We are too too predictable with the ball. I’m sick of these block plays. We need to be more creative. It seems like they have been told not to offload. We have players who can take advantage but the game plan is stifling us at the moment.

Watching the last few minutes of the Titans game I came to the conclusion I was going to give watching live Dragons games a rest for a while - for much the same reasons. Hopefully today when I'm doing something else and not watching the Dragons will pull a win out for us all!

Made me think of when Hunt bombed and Lomax chased and is a chance to score tries
I'd like to see Val chase them.
We are the worst at chasing bombs.

The loser of today will have their odds of being punted skyrocket.

The ladder has been good to us, we're at home. It's wet, remember the Storm game.

No short dropouts must have the ball just before half time and use the full bench.

Dragons to win, shut everyone up and put the last month to bed.

No chance we win. Club is rotten, fans don’t see it

We will see but one win doesn't solve much.

A win today doesn't make the last month disappear. We are 0-4 🤣 We need a big win 20-30+ and to win a couple on the trot for any noise to quiet down. Cowboys would rather a fast dry track so we definitely have the advantage as well as being at home but I just can't see us keeping it within 10 points honestly. Cows will give it to us today
