pretty funny post match press conference, Wayne almost looked like he was enjoying himself

Interesting comments about Sau and Boyd.
Sau was praised as being the type of player who wants to improve himself and for putting in effort to do so. And he passed the ball.
Boyd's problem in 'fitting in" was mentioned with comment made that even though he isn't firing he isn't making a lot of errors.

5 good wins in 5 grades this weekend.

Sau has done everything he has been asked to do.
Got fitter - tick.
Learnt to pass - tick.
He can only get better as the new skills improve.

Didn't think he was bad aqua. In his short time he had a few good runs and had the opportunity to offload but had no support. I also thought him and Zeb linking up was classy - sure it ended up with a forward pass but two forwards spreading the ball 20 metres to create what would have been a certain try was impressive.

Forward pass, knock on and missed tackle for Mannah try all within 5 mins of coming on to the field. Edwards also needs to make way for Tetevano, Eddy gives us absolutely nothing in attack apart from knock ons

Is it a problem that Carney and Mullen are both a lot more effective at 5/8 than half?

Jarrod was great tonight, he stood up when he would normally contribute to the collapse.

Problem? No. Carney is being heavily touted as the 6 and Pearce most likely the seven. Mullen is IMO a 6 and that is is it. That is where he should be picked but i can't help but feel some selector might put him in the 7 for country to partner Carney. It is ridiculous given his form for us.

I'm more surprised at his declining performance, he looked like a bloke that would be in the backrow for 10 years, now hes lucky to be holding his place.

I understand that he's been offered a contract and is sitting on it. Gutsy move.

He's carrying a knee injury at the moment, though wouldn't be surprised if the contract is playing on his mind as well.

Well IMO Joel chose to gamble and he's lost. Backrow is one position we've got depth in and he's not someone we desperately need to keep especially with the emergence of McKinnon and the signing of Beau Scott. Ethan Cook has been killing them in NSW cup, and we've seen what Tets can do. We've got to keep House for sure, Nev is under contract.
We are in a good position to renegotiate now with Eddy, if he wants to stay then it will be for fringe money

Cuthbertson was far from the worst player out there.
Who was then? Id only accept Eddie as an answer.

Cuthbertson comes on, made his error which lead to their only try and he was also involved in that Mannah try and did a pretty shit job. The whole team looked lazy like Cuthbertson in defense while he was on.

He was terrible, don't even try to stick up for him. He was only decent in his last stint in the match, probably all 10 minutes of it.

I'd put it out there that Taia was potentially worse. Yes he made a ton of ground and 38 tackles, but he also missed 8 tackles and made 5 errors, most in our own half. It's all well and good that he's putting his hand up to make plenty of runs, but it all counts for zilch if he's going to keep missing tackles left right and centre and lose the ball at every opportunity

I thought Zeb had a bit of a shocker really. A lot of work but a shit load of errors. The forwards were atrocious.

Bennett made him a priority resigning when he arrived. Has House had any contract talks?? I'd say he is more likely to be making way for Beau.

I actually don't mind that we played ordinary and still managed to win; no one remembers how you went early in the season, so if we keep picking up points by not playing the best footy it can only be positive for the remainder of the year.

Our attack still has a long way to go, but our defence is a marked improvement on last year. Once we have our defence in order the attack looks after itself eventually.

Well I know who I'd be keeping, a bloke who plays 80 mins of mistake free football with a high workrate or a 40min forward who is about as impotent as Nathan Hindmarsh with ball in hand and drops it atleast once a game aswell?

I think a lot of people are really over analyzing our performance yesterday.

I thought, like Bennett said, in the opening 25 minutes we were very good. No errors, good metres, fast line speed and good kick chase. It was probably the most impressive period of football we have played this year.

In rugby league sometimes when a scrappy game period develops both teams get dragged into it and the game becomes a mess. It's not a lack of skill or ability - it's ill discipline, lack of confidence and laziness. It happened yesterday and i think Bennett and Buderus bluntly acknowledged that, in years past Hages and Stone would have ummed and ahhh around it.

Why i'm not so concerned or ready to blow up about yesterdays performance? Because ill discipline, confidence and laziness is not something we are doing all game, every game. It can be fixed if it's acknowledged and we have a pretty handy coach who has done exactly that.

And at the very least our goal line defence is getting plenty of practice and confidence. You take out all the drop balls and a lot of guys like Tahu, Zeb, Aku and Sau and played their best game of the year yesterday.

It's a lot easier to teach guys who are willing to run 15 times a game and have footwork and tackle breaking ability to not drop the ball (Tahu, Zeb, Cuthbo) than it is to teach guys who never drop the ball to actually run the ball once every 15 minutes (Tolar)

Well I can agree with you on that, a couple others said that was Taia's best game, I don't know what they were watching.

He was far too flat when receiving the ball and got in the way of some of our attacking plays IMO.
