Please post the Twitter promotion here - let me know what I missed. And it appears you missed me saying the last I checked was yesterday. You can attack me personally all you like, you are entitled to your opinion and frankly I couldn't care less what it is. Lets see how tonights crowd compares with the identical match at Leichhardt against the Cowboys in the rain last year - 7125 is the number.

And then we will compare it to what they get against the Titans at LO later this month.

FMD, you are an apologist of the worst kind.

Instead of making excuses about how many times Grant is tweeting about the game, how about we try to find the reasons why people are not showing up and what the club can do to change it.

It frustrates the crap out of me, as the players are having a dig and can't do any more to get the fans there.

Or compare it to the 9000 odd they got v Panthers round 2 in beautiful perfect rugby league weather on a sunny sunday last year

Selective comparisons....any troll can do it

I was reading recently that they got 22K to a game at Cambo in 2005, so the fans are there.

The rain, price of tix, the fact that the media calls the team the Tigers and not Wests, and all the other array of excuses put forward by the apologists is just BS.

The crowds are down at Cambo whether rain, shine, Sydney opponent or otherwise.

I just hope the club is trying to find the reason and correct it.

Lol.. good debate I've started .
Just on last year the crowds were crap just like the team and hard to base figures on.. but LO only just nudged out Cambo on average figures. 10554 → 10064 2012- LO 16832 cambo 13663 BUT 2011 went to cambo 15973 to LO 15462 . Average over the last 10 years is LO 15831 cambo 14640 , so really there isnt such a massive difference as I had first thought . But at any rate I just hope tonight is a cracker of a crowd.

Exactly right mate. And despite the rabid Balmain fans and their vitriol that is exactly my point. Crowds are similar. The same factors affect BOTH venues.

I explained the factors that affect crowds. You can get personal all you like as well. You amuse me.

I missed your explanation for the 9k crowd against Penrith on a sunny Sunday last year.

I doubt it will amuse me though.

Absolutely fair call. Considering it was a day game, against a Sydney team in good weather, it was a poor crowd.

It was also an anomaly. I cant remember the exact figure but pretty sure the game prior in the same circumstances (day/dry/Sydney opposition) was against the Roosters and drew a crowd over 16k.

The point is generally speaking both venues draw similar figures in similar conditions.

Transplanted population many of whom come with their own teams combined with not as long a tradition.

In the modern age where every game is televised young people for the most part follow their parents team or the team that is successful. Locality has very little to do with it.

On field consistent success brings people through the gate

I think your point should be "used to".

In fine weather when the team is going even OK, the fans will turn up at LO, even on a Monday night.

For some reason the numbers have dropped off at Cambo regardless of Team performance, opponent, time or weather.

I was at the Cowboys game at LO last year and there wasn't even 7K there that they announced. Would have been half that....

The fact that they had been absolutely flogged in their prior 8 games wouldn't have helped people thinking about going to a live TV FTA game in appalling weather.

Based on the fact that out of the suburban grounds Ctown drew the 2 best crowds last year how do you justify that statement?

We are going in circles. My thoughts are this. There seems to be an agenda to turn crowds into a pissing contest but when all factors are considered on a level playing field both venues attract similar figures

No we are not!

You said that Cambo got the two best crowds last year, and I'm saying that is BS!

That's no circle, that's you getting it wrong (again).

Im not sure if anyone is making it a Balmain v wests thing , it certainly wasnt my angle . There are plenty of either groups in both parts of Sydney . I guess I was expecting Ctown as a huge growing area to be dominating the crowd figures or at least showing steady growth. Although I was wrong about the numbers they are still behind in the greater west and if we want that area to be the homeland we need to get things moving out there.

Are you on ElephantJuice? Ctown DID have the 2 best crowds between the suburban grounds in 2013. It is not hard to google this lol

All good mate. There is a misconception about Ctown crowds though in my opinion, and the draw this year has added factors which will probably result in lower crowds which will fuel the misconception.

I am in favour of playing at both suburban grounds, I would just like to share the love when it comes to day time footy and playing Sydney teams as best as possible.
