Round 6 vs Sharks

Ah good spot mate, I didn't see that Nene part. Good eyes.

I'm just going on the basis that last week we looked to be really struggling the last 15...last night I wasn't confident at half time and we're looking a little soft in defence again. The warriors are big boys and defence needs to be on point. I also think tariq might have an issue with that forearm to sharks halfback too.

We do have a good record against them so who knows

Simms shouldn't have a problem, Fox Sports called it the "Burgess" in thier coverage, it should more accurately be called the JWH, because in the Roosters game the other night he did exactly the same thing every single time he ran the ball.

But then he is a roosters player, and like Napa with his shoulder charges it goes unreported.

Geeze, that's like saying if we had JT playing for us instead of Widdop we would have won by 30 more

I can't agree with that sort of coach bashing

Some people are never going to admit Mary has them playing well.
Now while I don't think Mary is ever going to be a super coach, we are 6-0 to start the season, he deserves credit for that.

I've always said Mary was a masterful coach, all those posts where I called him a "muppet" "useless" "McUseless" etc etc was a result of my account being hacked.

Telling it truthfully......"Im loving watching this team of ours" I don't care how they win cause it's exciting attacking football and I'm glad to see the back of boring structured football.
They are playing like a Team that are tight with spirit and passion.

They do seem to be playing as real group this year, so much team spirit.
On the same note I cannot believe how much Graham has bought into the Dragons this year, he's been a standout as far as team spirit goes.
A true professional sportsman will give his all for any team he's playing with, but looking at Graham you would think he's been a Dragons for years.

Was only just reading the the Dragons Red V site where they mentioned that all the players with the exception of James Graham have scored tries . I realise that the man is more interested in doing his job on the field, but wouldn't it be lovely if the opportunity came his way in the not too distant future .

I used to detest James Graham with a passion. But it was for the same reason I love him now. Such an animated and gutsy competitor. Just watch the way he celebrates the JDB try as he is walking off for an HIA. He is all about the team, not himself.

The simple truth is that despite how well we played, the individual brilliance in some of the tries (up to this game we had been far more team orientated in our results), how poor the Sharks actually are as a team, the abysmal effort by Moylan at FB, the bad luck for them to lose 3 key forwards during the game the Sharks at times showed us to be poor (considering we have no injuries or excuses to offer) so it is still very evident that we have some real deficiencies in our game after 6 rounds.
As was the case last year, other teams will improve and get the bugs out of their games and we need to do that as well because the last 2 seasons we didn't heed the warnings and we crashed.
Yes it is evident we are a very different and far better team this year but that doesn't give us the right to be arrogant and not be honest in our assessments.
From this point of the season we need to be completely focussed, 100% professional in our approach and hardened and to run around waving our flags, beating our chests and grinning like cheshire cats and ignoring warning signs is thwart with danger.
So as much as some want to criticise others for their caution and willingness to still find areas where we need to improve despite good solid victories, I say maybe they need to be criticised for their hubris.
People who take that as a criticism are fools and far too easily caught up in the early season hype as there is still a long way to go.
So far so good and certainly more upside than down but one must always remember it is not the good things that you do that will lose you games.
Well played last night, enjoyable to watch and looking forward to the sizeable challenge the next 3 weeks presents.

Truthfully, I’d like to see some xfactor on Nighty’s wing.
Yes he’s a club legend, gives his all and we all love him, but seriously Mann, Field or Lomax for mine would add the xfactor I’m talking about that’s lacking there.
I know Nighty’s defence is good but Dufty can’t defend either right, and we’ve seen what he brings to the team.

I can’t post during games so far this season. The games are just so entertaining.

Foxtel’s coverage shat me to tears last night. Ennis and Kimmorely commentating...fmd...biased much?

The actual game was great to watch. I was disappointed with our discipline though, particularly in the second half. I thought we got a bit too cute after posting those quick tries. Silly errors compounded by penalties resulting in Sharks points. We’ll need to cut that out.

I did love the push and shove between Fafita and Frizz and lmao when Sargeant Jimmy Graham came over to put his 2 cents in. And Tariq Sims take a bow. I don’t know how many angry pills he takes pre game, but I hope we keep them in stock.

Great win...can’t wait for next week.

Unfortunately I agree, Feild on the wing for mine.
Nightingale is a legend, but he's having too many poor games in a row.
There was one play last night where he got the ball 20 metres out, a fast winger would have been in in the corner, he was covered and had to cut back inside

Good win again last night but Ive noticed in particular James Graham in the last 2 games has lost some of his go forward, I know otber teams will lift when they play us and players like Graham will be hit with numbers...we have a pretty heavy schedule coming up particularly in the next 3 weeks so Mary will have to carefully rotate his bench...different team this year I know but I dont want to see a repeat of the past few years when our forwards were burnt early in the season....one good thing that is relieving some pressure on our props is the decision by Mcinnes to run the ball from dummy half , pinching cheap metres rather than our big boppers having to bash theur way upfield

If we can get through this difficult month and then the Origin period with as many wins as losses I will be more than satisfied. It is going to be a hard task, but if we are able to endure it without a streak of losses we will be in this competition up to our eyeballs!
