Round 7 v Manly

I think the funniest part about this thebigredv, is listening to Gus Gould on commentary say it was a ridiculous penalty :)

Lol.

Yeah it reminded me of his contribution to your fortunes during his infamous Mary review.

After the complete and comprehensive implemtation of all of Gus's insights, wisdom and reccommendations -the club had its worst season for years and barely limped into second last.

A couple of panel here called for the club to take his advice and do the exact opposite. Sage!

One of the reasons I detest the Melbourne Storm, as well as Craig Bellamy, is the numerous dangerous tackle types developed at the Storm under his coaching. One of which was of course the hip-drop which has caused numerous issues, and has been shown to cause lower body injuries up to 20 times more often than a standard tackle technique.

But there have been so many other injury causing tackle techniques created by Bellamy and his coaching staff over the years.

The fact that a man can put in place such a raft of techniques, in a deliberate manner, to create appalling injuries to other human beings, over such a long period of time, all in an attempt to gain an edge in order to win a game of football at all costs, and still be spoken about with such awe and respect by the idiot pundits and media commentators, is ridiculous.

He has never been called out over this by the NRL. They simply go from banning one tackle to the next without fixing the root problem. Their toothlessness is something they should be ashamed of, and their simpering puppy dog responses to "the great man" makes then equally responsible for some of the awful injuries that have been deliberately caused over the years.
The man has no respect for the game and the players but his own personal interest which really sucks.

Apart from the above he still has the Storm parade the 2 trophies won during the Salary cap breach years which the NRL should have stepped in and fined the club. It just shows how serious the Storm have taken the NRL stance on the cheating which they got called out for. They are literally telling the NRL that they don't care and will still take the credit for the wins.

And to show how far up his ar$e the NRL is, in the last 4 years he has won 2 Daly M Coach of the Year awards. Payten and Webster the other 2 yet Ivan Cleary who won 4 comps in 4 years has won none? Ivan did this with mostly juniors and no wrestling illegal moves. Bellamy has not won back to back comps without Salary cap rorts. With all that smoke they blow up his ar$e and have him as a Supercoach it goes to show how hard it is to win back to back comps. Currently we have Cleary, Robbo and Bennet the only coaches who have achieved back to back comps post 1990.

And the forum got stuck into the DNA issue and how it could be defined.

Not just the history but the values of the club.

And sometimes these values just materialise on their own, like out of thin air or what Flanno represents.

Weve seen two recent examples.

Firstly, Gutho saying hes moved to SGI " because i want to win a premiership."

Which i found quite moving and especially sharp given the Bunt and Zac ( now apparently regretted) departures and the glib selfish reasons they offered, at the clubs expense for Bunt. Zac was more lost.

Secondly, young Ilias, putting Flannos remonstrations behind him. Taking the positives out of the criticism, letting it sink in and having a much better game thereafter.

Anyway to me, those are DNA-related responses.

Building blocks to finals and if not that, long overdue respect and regard for the playing group.

Not even controversial, they are decent group of young men, worthy of backing and wishing the best for.

I think this is a bit rough. Definitely a hip drop but I do think he got concussed during the tackle which contributed to the incident. Unless it was a repeat offense (which I don't think was mentioned in the article), he would have only gotten 3 matches for a grade 3 dangerous contact.
Are we allowed to say genius on this forum?

Prime example of one.

Yeah. Mary summoned him which basically meant Mary would be spared the axe in the reccomendation.

@Gareth67 and i were tracking the progress as much as we could.

The report wasnt publically released, but we got snippets such as the players not knowing much about the clubs history.

Its obviously good that they do, but that doesnt stop tries or turn Bunt into a human being.

The counselling and new age stuff, i think that was brought in by that flip who that afl team had sacked. I dont think he saw the season out.

And Matty Elliot was creeping around with his crystal pyramid nerks as well.

And of course, the club went through many physios.

The first thing Richo did when he came to our club was to sack the gear steward. A real statement of intent! Anyway hes going better now.

Rumours we are announcing signings in the next few weeks.

Couldnt agree more TSP, I really wish we could have landed Richo, but there would have been too many board members pissing in their pants !!!

Yeah, i give him the 7 out of 10 as hes let a few ships sail.

1. Members, we dont have any voting rights so there is no genuine accountability.

2. Way too close to Benji when he should be more objective.

3. Prices are out of control, membership packages have taken a real beating.

But hes done a lot good things as well. Its a trade off i suppose. I like his high profile and i dont question that he means well.

Id pay another $80 for a barely adhesive car sticker to get Flanno to the Tigers. Id love to see who he would select, the bench, what the game plan is and to be chilling in the top 6 or something.

That storm game was my favourite, life or death!

Best sgi individual effort, be sloaneys fend v vals step.

Vals step just wins out, its a personal taste thing i guess.

Yeah I do see your point, but I suppose its no coincidence that where ever Richo has been, they are proved to be on a successful path, I'll swap you Haran for him :)

That defender has absolutely no effing idea where Val went!

Hes defending against a ghost!

I might get a proper photo of this, keep it in the hallway at home.

I dont think its un-Wests Tigers, its "all of game" moment.

Any player would consider this a profound, endearing and eternal contribution to our beloved gane.

Don't really get all the Shane Richardson hype. Did nothing at Cronulla, nothing at Hull. He was at Penrith for what, one or two years? I'd be more inclined to give their win to John Lang then Richardson. His long stint at the Bunnies was mostly unsuccessful, with wooden spoons, until Russell Crowe and Holmes A'Court took over and put their own money in to fix up the club. Then Crowe was personally instrumental in bringing over all of the Burgess boys, who you could argue were the main power behind the Bunnies revival and Premiership.

We definitely need a better recruitment structure but he's not the answer. He's overpaid for a few superstars at the Tigers which will come back and bite them in squad depth. And he can yell all he wants about this Galvin thing being a disgrace, which maybe it is, but the buck stops with him. It's happening under his watch.
