I like the look that - except I'd punt Guler and Holmes altogether. Neither one deserves a spot. Sloan or Reed can do the goal-kicking.

Some interesting choices there.

I wouldn't be playing TPH against the Roosters though, he's very small and either Marky mark or Tupou would have a field day. But I like the idea, maybe a bench spot as he can play 1, 6, 7 or 9 also. We need speed and a jumper so maybe consider TRumble.
I'd remove Cake altogether.
Time for val to stand up as you say, so put him back on his preferred side with a 1 last chance message.
Feagai probably over Bucky at this stage (Bucky didn't do much in the Cup game on Saturday).
Agree with Kyle, he has to play 14 or there's no room for him in 1st grade.

He was immense in Cup on Saturday. 20 runs, 230m, a line break, 5 tackle breaks, 10 tackles with only one miss. He also has an excellent kicking game. He forced some line drop outs and put in some solid kicks in general play. I honestly thought in 2024 that TPH was good, but would never make it just because of his size. I am happy to say that with every week going by he has been consistently proving me wrong. I think he can make it.

Maybe not at fullback though. Dummy-half, possibly in the halves? @TheRev thoughts?

Yea he is small maybe even FB with Sloan on the wing.. Either way I think they will score most of their trys off shape hopefully they have an off night it would be a win for the ages that's for sure

I suppose 1 question to be asked is whether Kyle even plays given what's transpired. Too emotional maybe.

Imagine he plays, has a blinder and we win. How ironic!

The fact we have no 'back-up' hooker now that Lids is out, seems to point to Kyle being the 14. I think H. Finau is HIA from Saturday's game and Fagalilo is a long way off. Cookie is good for 60 mins but then he starts making those 1% mistakes. TPH at least provides some backline support as well as being brave enough to play hooker for a short stint.

I recommend we forfeit the game. There's no coach, the players aren't interested, and I'm sure the servicemen and women don't want to witness a slaughter.

I'll be there to see if the players lack of interest (particularly Val's) was in the former coach...

I subscribe to a bit of a different view re picking this next team.

Barring KF who should be the 14 at best I would pick almost all the others and find out if they have been tanking due to poor game plans etc or if what they've been doing is the best they've got.

If it is truly the latter then over the next 2 weeks I would be fitting in as many of the young guns into as many 1st grade positions as I could for 2 weeks of intensive training and forming basic combinations which we sadly appear to be lacking.

The game plan would be simple "don't die wondering".

You think we will get the opportunity to kick any goals? That would mean either we score a try or get a penalty in their 30 metre zone , I’m thinking that’s unlikely
