We have too many players in the pack with shit lateral movement. Chooks easily stepped around em or stepped enough to make their tackles ineffective. Stewart, couchman, JDB & Egan were holding together the defence well enough but today just missing Stewart & Egan with less mins exposed those other defensive duds in our team.

Guler is shithouse, klemmer and Lawrie not much better. Luciano was exposed for his fatness today

Games like today when our thin veneer is removed show us for what we actually are both in terms of players & style.

Slow, clueless, ponderous, clueless, lazy, impotent, clueless, unimaginative, directionless did I say clueless are all appropriate plus a few others I suspect.

A couple of wins against good sides always seems to shift the scales to the positive side and the fan base try hard to keep it there despite the obvious and glaring negatives.

Despite the poor roster issues we should be better than the tripe we serve up in important games like today.

For all those that were cock a hoop over the Manly & Storm games and professing how much we have turned a corner & improved please explain todays abysmal effort?

We can beat a good team occasionally and we do beat good teams that have an off day but we do those things sparingly and should not treat them or think of them as being indicative of our play.

We play too poorly too often to suggest we are well coached.

Are we poorly coached? Possibly. But who do you replace him with? No one else wanted to coach us. Do we have a poor roster? Probably. No one else wanted to play for us. How about we stop blaming the few players and coaches who are willing to don the red and white and go after the real culprits.

Needs to bulk up and improve his defense first. Agree about Suli on the edge, Luch in the middle to use his size. As good as Toby has been as a bookend reckon he'd make a good edgie too.

What makes anyone think Luc would survive in the middle? I don't see it.

What was evident was the defensive pattern was shit house from go to whoa

Players running in to try and do a bone crushing tackle left gaping holes for them to exploit.

Plenty worse than the young winger who acquired himself very well considering how ordinary the entire team was.

Luc, Cook, Cake, KF, LI, E G all missed a number of key tackles that gave the men outside no chance and not sure what V H was thinking with some of his efforts.

Yes OT if you look at their tries from head on our defensive shape and structure was non-existent...shit house fits the bill quite well ....as for Luciano he needs weeks in a sauna with the door locked...I've been of the opinion for weeks now that the Cook/ Liddle interchange needs a lot of tweaking...the timing just doesn't do it for me.....there's glimpses of Liddles 2024 form but the amount of game time he gets now has affected his performances

? Everyone missed tackles, even the ever reliable JdB missed one. Our defensive line was too slow. Our last line too.

Tbh we were gassed after 25 mins..no ball and mega amounts of tackling.....I think at one stage they had 83% of possession and we had 17....

Suli from center to the edge forward position. He rarely sets up his winger these days.

This is a quick fix for this season.

The only problem is that the Dragons would have to find a top center to pair with Holmes.

I had enough time to cool off after this inept performance. We always seem to be bogged down at our end of the field, constantly defending our goal line. It’s a combination of our forwards inability to get down the other end and on the rare occasion we do, our halves don’t end up getting a result on the last play, like a repeat set.
Our right edge defence is a shambles, Suli needs a spell in reserves, his defence is as bad as always, but most alarmingly, he is completely useless in attack. Has he beaten his opposite number at all this season?
Sloan’s defence has not been much better, but he at least offers a threat on attack.

I think I this season will closely mirror last year, we won’t string more than 2 wins in a row. Let’s hope like last year we are still a chance at a chance to make the 8 with 3-4 rounds to go.

In relation to Cook and Liddle, I noticed at one point both of them were on the field at the same time in the second half. Looked like one of then was playing lock,

I think we seriously missed Stewart, geez we were loose in defence after about 15 minutes. I don’t have any answers as for our halves, short of moving Gutho in there, I doubt a LKT can be expected to be thrown in there and turn the ship while the forawrds contiinue to plod.
