Are we poorly coached? Possibly. But who do you replace him with? No one else wanted to coach us. Do we have a poor roster? Probably. No one else wanted to play for us. How about we stop blaming the few players and coaches who are willing to don the red and white and go after the real culprits.
Let’s face the harsh reality

Many were praising our coach for not paying overs well how did that pan out for us?

Many were lauding what he would / could do that others before him had failed to do the reason being that he had won a premiership well how is that going for us?

They come, they take our money so they should and must be held accountable.

K F, T E & C T extended ffs what a joke.

Cake is totally forgettable & Cook has been poor ever since his partnership with Reynolds ended but both get selected.

Sele signing was seen by many as a plus for S F fmd what people thinking?

Luc just bludging his way through the season.

The only positive is the young ones.

S F is a myth and has no tangible answers and D Y is an even bigger myth.

What can one say ? We look very lack lustre and our deficiencies showed alarmingly. No real spark in attack and our defense simply was not up to the same standards as our opponents .

I must agree with Old Timer that Luciana didn’t put his best foot forward- he must get stuck into the hard defensive role as presently he appears to be nothing more than a show pony and Cooky seemed to be of the pace - by a number of steps . Perhaps old Father Time has all but caught up with him . I hope not as I do believe he can still contribute to the team , but perhaps in shorter periods than he is currently doing .

I expect minimal changes next week, Stewart to return which is one of our problems. Yes the Rorters had a lot of ball but it was only 14-6 close to HT. Our 2nd half was the disappointment for me. It is not practical to make wholesale changes they will say but for example does Luc think he will be dropped next week for his poor defence letting in at least 2 tries - No !! So no ramifications for a very poor effort. Until some if these blokes know they have to perform or they WILL be dropped we will continue to get these results.

So, who made all these mistakes?

Very disappointing loss. 2024’s soft defence in the middle rears its ugly head again.
No line speed in defence.
Woeful long kicking game. Ineffectual halves. The limited attacking chances we had we mostly squandered.
I thought they were pretty brave in the first half considering field position and possession. Sua tried hard.
Out enthused in the middle of the park. And so yet another insipid Anzac Day performance from the Dragons……

Also disappointed (but not surprised) by a few of the usual suspects on the forum who only seem to pop up crowing like a loon and calling for the coaches head after a loss. They’re just as soft and pathetic as the team was yesterday.

From what website did you drag those stats
Both nrl app and league live.
The stats I showed were forwards only. With sua at 121. Next best lawrie 93.
Everyone saying bring the young kids up. Yes great to have young kids though Trying to play nrl week in and week out as a 19-21yr old forward is the testing thing and will finally catch up.
I thought our whole squad was gassed early on!

What makes anyone think Luc would survive in the middle? I don't see it.

As for Cook playing a full game when we have Liddle who comes on at the end of games is mind boggling ....... Surely Liddell won't stick around .......

They get gassed because they have to do a heap more tackling than the opposition. Our forwards simply cannot make yardage. We are then kicking on tackle 5 mostly on our side of half way. We are always making more tackles than the opposition and spending more time in our own red zone than the opposition. This is even the case we win a game, I saw the stats against manly last week , I was amazed that we hung in and won.
The pack is too small, Flanno needs to come up with a better game plan, and it needs to be more than just having our wingers and centres taking runs from dummy half.

From 2005 through to 2012 we only lost once on ANZAC day (2007) oh boy how the tables have turned further proof that this club continues to find ways to sink to new lows.

Just off topic for a sec is anyone else having problems with the ads on this website ...... Finding it really hard to view anything ads take over the phone .......
I have. Sometimes the page won't load and sometimes when it does there's a big ad that covers 1/4 of the screen from the bottom. Once I hit the x it's ok until I have to reload the page.

Pretty much this. I've lost count of the times we've started a game and just had to defend for 20 mins straight. Teams usually make more metres than us which doesn't help but it's the errors we make when we finally get decent ball or the set restarts that hurts the most (the flano high shot and sione drop ball are good examples).

That's why we always hear flano or the players talk about "fast starts" so we don't end up in these situations. But sometimes the other team completes well and kicks well and prevents us from hitting the lead early.

At 14-6 down I wasn't too phased considering the lack of possession we had but the two tries either side of half time just killed us. As soon as we're down a big lead and gassed we just fall apart.

We were there yesterday and unfortunately it was similar to last year.
our team looked slow, and confused. No speed in the line and the forwards were either just tired or disinterested. The plays were either one out or miss a player which by the third tackle of the game were easy for the roosters to guess.
Kicks in play were predictable and ineffective.
The game was over after 10 minutes. At least that’s what it felt like.
Stayed to the end though as usual.
Gutherson looked bad but to be honest, there was nothing in the flyby tries he could have done to prevent them. By the time they reached him there was a ball carrier and at least 2 supports. So he was basically screwed. His game was however below what we have seen this year.
I don’t know the answer and wouldn’t be Flanagan for quids to be honest.

Everyone trying to throw up different solutions though the huge difference between us and most other squads is our forward pack. YES Our halves aren’t the greatest though when we aren’t getting over the halfway line on every set that leaves no other choice than to put a shit kick up. We all know our attacking flair within a 20 m zone is strong enough to win games..

Yes, we need an Alpha pop though you can’t say we didn’t try in the off-season. We had a dig at every forward in the market and came up short. Yes our past 10 years results haven’t been a success so why would anyone want to come. We need to start making the eight consistently for good players Wanting to move over to us.

We complain that we don’t want to pay overs like we did with hunt as we can all see now I think we have to , to get the players that will change our footy team.

imagine we signed AFB on a 1.3 a year. The uproar woukd have been huge!

Also those saying luc to the front row.. please the guy can’t move laterally. But yes agree not an edge player either!!
